Objective : This study aimed to develop assessment items for the early screening of children with developmental disabilities within a metaverse environment. Specifically, it aimed to create cognitive assessment items for screening intellectual disabilities and social assessment items for screening autism spectrum disorders, targeting 3-year-old children, which is an age suitable for metaverse applications. Methods : Considering the metaverse's feasibility, preliminary assessment items based on existing literature were prepared. Feedback from a diverse group of experts was collected through a written survey followed by face-to-face interviews to revise and improve the items. Case experiences from child care and therapeutic settings were gathered, and the assessment items were refined based on the collaborative efforts of experts such as occupational therapists, teachers, and clinical psychologists. Results : Final metaverse-based cognitive assessment items include: remembering the same object, naming objects, identifying similarities, classifying, naming colors, distinguishing colors, classifying colors, counting, understanding the concept of one, and making comparisons. The social assessment items include responding to one's name, following rules, expressing emotions, and helping friends. Conclusion : This study has significant clinical implications as it is the first to present metaversebased items for evaluating the development of young children. The advantages of the metaverse environment, such as realistic simulation, immersion, interaction, systematic presentation, and diverse response collection, are expected to revolutionize developmental disability assessments in the future.

목적 : 본 연구는 메타버스 환경에서 발달장애 아동을 조기 선별하는 평가 항목 개발을 목적으로 하였다. 메타버스 적용이 가능한 연령인 만 3세를 대상으로 지적장애 선별을 위한 인지 평가항목과 자폐스펙트럼 장애 선별을 위한 사회성 평가항목을 개발하고자 하였다. 연구방법 : 메타버스 구현 가능성을 고려하면서 선행 문헌을 기반으로 마련된 평가 항목에 대해서 전문가 를 대상으로 서면 조사로 피드백을 받은 다음 비대면 인터뷰를 시행하여 항목을 수정 보완하였다. 아동 보육과 치료 현장의 사례 경험을 수집하였고, 작업치료사, 교사, 임상심리사 등 전문가들의 의견을 토대 로 평가 항목을 개선하였다. 결과 : 최종적으로 도출된 메타버스 기반 평가의 인지 영역은 ‘같은 대상 기억하기’, ‘대상 이름 말하기’, ‘유사성 파악하기’, ‘분류하기’, ‘색 명명하기’, ‘색 구분하기’, ‘색 분류하기’, 수 세기’, ‘한 개 알기’, ‘비교 하기’ 항목을 포함하고, 사회성 영역은 ‘이름에 반응하기’, ‘규칙 지키기’, ‘감정 표현하기’, ‘친구를 돕기’ 항목을 포함하였다. 결론 : 본 연구는 최초로 어린 아동의 발달을 평가하기 위한 메타버스 기반 항목을 제시한 점에서 임상적 함의가 있다. 본 연구에서 개발된 항목이 구현될 메타버스 환경이 갖는 현실 모사, 몰입감, 상호작용, 체 계적 제시, 다양한 반응 수집의 이점은 향후 발달장애 평가의 도약적 발전에 기여할 것으로 기대된다.
