This paper analyzed the trends of multicultural counseling research from 2000 to March 2024 using a longitudinal approach using keyword co-citation analysis and topic modeling techniques. The results of the study showed that Phase 1 (2000–2010) emphasized issues related to group counseling, acculturative stress, multicultural families, and especially married immigrant women. Phase 2 (2011–2020) expanded the research to include more specialized and qualitative methods focusing on mental health, self-identity, and integrating multicultural counseling into broader education and social support systems. Phase 3 (2021–2024) emphasized individualized counseling approaches that address specific challenges such as the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on multicultural youth and the increasing importance of narrative and phenomenological research. Finally, this paper suggests that it can provide comprehensive insights into the intellectual structure and evolution of person-centered qualitative research and multicultural counseling research, and advocate for culturally sensitive counseling services and improved counselor training to meet the diverse needs of multicultural societies.

본 논문은 키워드 동시 출현분석과 토픽모델링 기법으로 2000년부터 2024년 3월까지의 다문화 상담연구 동향을 종단적 접근 방법으로 분석했다. 연구 결과는 1단계(2000-2010년)는 집단상담, 문화적응 스트레스, 다문화 가족, 특히 결혼이주여성과 관련된 문제를 강조하였다. 2단계(2011-2020년)는 정신건강, 자기 정체성, 다문화 상담 을 더 넓은 교육 및 사회적 지원 시스템에 통합하는 데 초점을 맞춘 보다 전문적이고 질적인 방법을 포함하도록 연구가 확장되었다. 3단계(2021-2024년)는 코로나19 팬데믹이 다문화 청소년에게 미치는 영향, 내러티브 및 현상 학적 연구의 중요성 증가와 같은 특정 과제를 해결하는 개별화된 상담 접근 방식이 강조되었다. 끝으로 이 논문에 서는 개인 중심의 질적 연구와 다문화 상담 연구의 지적구조와 진화에 대한 포괄적인 통찰력을 제공할 수 있으며, 다문화 사회의 다양한 요구를 충족시키기 위해 문화적으로 민감한 상담 서비스와 개선된 상담사 훈련을 옹호할 수 있다고 제안한다.
