For the Ishigawa Noto area and Niigata Sado area, which were designated as World Agricultural Heritage sites for the first time in Japan, this study considered the current status of sustainable operation in three areas: the promotion of agricultural heritage, the succession of the next generation, and tourism linkage. Based on the case analysis of the two regions, it is believed that measures to revitalize Korean agricultural heritage and revitalize the region can be suggested. As a result of the study, the creation of a fund through linkage with local financial institutions, branding of agricultural products and production of agricultural products, promotion of the tourism industry using local resources, education for the next generation, agricultural, forestry and fishing workers, administration, local residents, and higher education research institutes (universities) such as universities are linked to each other, training agricultural heritage talents, sending various information on agricultural heritage, operation of agricultural heritage tourism experience programs, and development of value sharing activities, etc. Accordingly, if a plan for revitalizing domestic agricultural heritage is proposed, multi-faceted approaches and activities such as branding linked to local resources such as local specialties or ecological resources, experience programs and value sharing centered on agricultural heritage, continuous research on agricultural heritage with local universities, and expansion of the spectrum of activities can be applied.

본 연구에서는 일본 최초로 세계농업유산으로 지정된 이시가와 노토지역과 니이가타 사도지역을 대상으로, 농업유산의 진흥, 다음 세대 계승, 관광연계라 는 3개 부문에 대한 지속가능한 운영 현황을 고찰하였다. 두 지역 사례분석을 바탕으로, 한국 농업유산의 활성화와 지역활성화 방안을 제시할 수 있을 것으 로 판단된다. 연구결과, 지역의 금융기관과의 연계를 통한 펀드 창설, 농산물의 브랜드화와 농산물 생산 활성화, 지역자원을 활용한 관광산업 추진, 다음 세대 를 위한 교육적, 농림어업 종사자, 행정, 지역주민, 대학 등의 고등교육 연구기 관(대학) 등이 서로 연계한 농업유산 인재 양성, 농업유산에 대한 다양한 정보 발신, 농업유산 관광체험 프로그램 운영 및 가치 공유 활동 전개 등 다양한 프 로그램이 운영되고 있음을 알 수 있다. 이에 국내 농업유산의 활성화를 위한 방안을 제시하면, 지역의 특산품 혹은 생태자원 등과 같은 지역자원과 연계된 브랜딩, 농업유산 중심의 체험 프로그램과 가치 공유, 지역대학과의 지속적인 농업유산 연구, 아카이브 작업 등의 다면적 접근과 활동의 스펙트럼 확대 등을 적용할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.
