This article examines the current status and characteristics of Korean old books and manuscripts in Japan, focusing on physical materials that have historical significance for book exchange and research value. As an example of one of the many collections, a bibliographical analysis was conducted on 2,686 Korean old books of 482 types in the library of Waseda University, Japan, to identify themes and types of editions. Based on the bibliographic descriptions, the analysis shows that, except for the separate collections, there are relatively more biographies of masters, canon law, and miscellaneous books, and woodblock and metal type are the majority in terms of editions. The existing materials were examined case by case, and the materials from the Joseon Dynasty, Japanese books published based on Joseon texts, manuscripts and internal manuscripts, etc. have high research value as meaningful materials in the field of book exchange history and publishing culture history. Six types of Joseon Dynasty metal type printed books published before the Imjin War were identified and the process of their transmission, and internal manuscripts and manuscripts became an important factor in understanding the transmission of Korean manuscripts held in the Waseda University Library. It is necessary to conduct individual and intensive research on these important texts, and separate research on their relevance to other editions at home and abroad.

이 연구는 현재 일본에 남아있는 한국 고문헌 중에 서적교류사적 의미가 있고 연구가치가 있는 실물 자료를 중심으로 현황과 특징이 드러나는 내용을 살펴본 것이다. 여러 소장처 중에 한 사례로 일본 와세다대학(早稲田大學)도서관 소장의 482종 2,686책의 한국고서를 대상으로 서지적 분석을 진행하여 그 주제와 판본별 유형을 구분할 수 있었다. 조사된 서지기술 내용을 토대로 분석해본 결과 주제별로는 별집류를 제외하고 사부의 전기류, 정법류, 잡사류 등이 비교적 많은 편이고 판본별로는 목판본과 금속활자본이 다수를 차지한다. 실물로 남은 서적에 대하여 현전하는 자료를 사례별로 살펴보았는데, 조선전기의 자료, 조선본을 바탕으로 간행한 일본서, 장서인과 내사본 등은 서적교류사를 비롯한 출판문화사 영역에서도 의미있는 자료로 연구가치가 높다. 임진왜란 이전에 간행된 6종의 조선전기 금속활자 인쇄본과 그 전래과정이 확인되었고 내사본이나 장서인은 와세다대학도서관에 소장된 한국고서의 전래경위를 파악하는데 중요한 요소가 되었다. 이 가운데 중요 전적에 대한 개별적이고 집중적인 연구가 이루어질 필요가 있으며. 국내외 다른 판본과의 관련성에 대한 별도의 연구도 진행되어야 할 것이다.

この研究は現在日本に残っている韓国古文献の中で書籍交流史的意味があり、研究価値のある実物資料を中心に現況と特徴があらわれる内容を調べたものだ。様々な所蔵先の一例として、日本早稲田大学図書館所蔵の482種2,686冊の韓国古書を対象に書誌的分析を行い、その主題と版本別の類型を区分することができた。調査された書誌技術の内容を土台に分析してみた結果、主題別には別集類を除いて師父の電気類、正法類、雑事類などが比較的多い方であり、版本別には木版本と金属活字本が多数を占める。実物に残った書籍に対して顕伝する資料を事例別に調べたが、朝鮮前期の資料、朝鮮本を土台に刊行した日本書、蔵書人と内写本などは書籍交流史をはじめとする出版文化史領域でも意味ある資料で研究価値が高い。文禄･慶長の役以前に刊行された6種の朝鮮前期の金属活字印刷本とその伝来過程が確認され、内写本や蔵書印は早稲田大学図書館に所蔵された韓国古書の伝来経緯を把握する上で重要な要素となった。このうち、重要な戦績に対する個別的かつ集中的な研究が必要であり、国内外の他の版本との関連性に対する別途の研究も行われるべきである。
