It explores the possibility of Korea's modern cultural heritage going beyond a simple object of historical preservation to function as a commons space in modern society. The commons play an important role in increasing the social capital of communities and strengthening democratic participation and social solidarity. In conclusion, this study suggests the possibility and importance of modern cultural heritage in the transformation of Korean society into a commons space, and suggests that future policy development and research should be conducted in this direction. This will contribute to the sustainable development of the community and the enrichment of the cultural assets of the community.

한국의 근대문화유산이 단순한 역사적 보존의 대상에서 나아가, 현대 사회에서 커먼스공간으로 기능할 수 있는 가능성을 탐구하였다. 커먼스공간이란 특정 개인이나 단체가 아닌 공동체 전체가 공유하고 관리하는 자원을 의미하며, 이러한 공간 은 공동체의 사회적 자본을 증대시키고, 민주적 참여와 사회적 연대를 강화하는 중요한 역할을 한다. 한국의 근대문화유산 은 주로 유교적 전통과 집단주의 문화에 뿌리를 둔 공동체 의식 속에서 그 가치가 형성되었고 이러한 유산들이 현대적 요 구에 맞게 재활용되어 커먼스공간으로 전환될 때, 지역 사회와 역동적인 상호작용을 촉진할 수 있음을 재확인하였다. 또한 근대문화유산의 커먼스공간화 과정에서의 도전과 과제도 추후 구체적이고 실증적인 논의가 필요하다. 본 연구는 국내외 사례를 통해 근대문화유산이 커먼스공간으로 전환될 때의 가능성과 그 중요성을 제시하며, 앞으로의 정책 개발과 연구가 이러한 방향으로 이루어져야 함을 제안한다. 이는 지역 사회의 지속 가능한 발전과 공동체의 문화적 자산을 풍부하게 만드는 데 기여할 것이다.
