Objectives This study aims to develop an ESG management evaluation scale that considers the general public, an important stakeholder of the Taekwondo Promotion Foundation, as a preemptive measure when introducing ESG management by the Taekwondo Promotion Foundation. Methods To achieve this research purpose, an online survey was conducted through social media (SNS), including Facebook, using a questionnaire consisting of 17 questions. Participation in this survey was limited to adult men and women over the age of 19, and a total of 148 survey responses were computerized using statistical programs (SPSS 23.0, AMOS 23.0), followed by descriptive statistical analysis, exploratory factor analysis, reliability analysis, and confirmatory factor analysis. Results According to the research results, the environment, social contribution, and transparent management were identified as the ESG management evaluation factors that the public considers important for the Taekwondo Promotion Foundation. Conclusions The ESG management evaluation scale derived from this study will provide future researchers in public sports organizations and academia with a reliable and valid scale that can be applied to research on the legitimacy and effectiveness of implementing ESG management in public sports organizations.

본 연구의 목적은 국내 스포츠 공공조직인 태권도진흥재단의 ESG경영 도입 시 선제적 과제로써 태권도 진흥재단의 중요 이해관계자인 일반 대중을 고려한 ESG경영 평가척도를 개발하고 ESG 실행요소와 평가에 대한 시사점을 제공하는 데 있었다. 이러한 연구목적을 달성하기 위해, 편의 표본추출법(convenience sampling method)을 사용하여 2024년 4월 1일부터 2024년 4월 15일까지 15일간 Facebook과 X를 포함한 소 셜미디어(SNS)를 통해 온라인 설문조사가 진행되었으며, 17문항으로 구성된 설문지를 사용하였다. 본 설문 조사의 참여 대상은 19세 이상의 성인 남녀로 한정하였으며, 총 148명의 설문자료를 통계프로그램(SPSS 23.0, AMOS 23.0)으로 전산처리한 후, 기술통계분석, 탐색적 요인분석, 신뢰도분석, 확인적 요인분석을 실시 하였다. 연구결과에 따르면, 대중이 중요하게 고려하는 태권도진흥재단의 ESG경영 평가요인으로 환경, 사회 공헌, 투명경영이 도출되었다. 따라서 본 연구에서 도출된 태권도진흥재단 ESG경영 평가척도는 향후 공공 스포츠조직 및 학계 연구자들에게 공공 스포츠조직 ESG경영 실현의 당위성과 효과성 연구에 적용할 수 있 는 신뢰도와 타당도가 확보된 척도를 제공할 것으로 판단된다.
