In East Asia, historical disputes constantly reoccur due to differences in each country’s World War II war memories. Japan’s efforts to erase the facts of the harm without reflecting on its war of aggression continue. However, in Japan, some people constantly testify totheir harm and appeal for reversal. An example is the “Association of Returnees from China” (Chukiren, 中帰連), formed by those detained and returned from China’s war crimes management center. ‘Chukiren’ had a chance to reflect on its harm from the victims’ perspective through China’s unprecedentedly generous war crimes policy and war crimes trial, focusing on ‘human crime’ (認罪) and ‘reformation’ (改造). They were born as subjects who internalized the political community’s joint responsibility, such as establishing their identity as perpetrators and dedicating their lives to Sino-Japanese friendship and anti-peace movements through evidence of harm after returning home. ‘Chukiren’ is a perpetrator who constantly testifies to their involvement in Japan’s war of aggression. However, they are also victims who were detained for five years in Siberia and engaged in forced labor before being transferred to China in 1950 –representing Japan’s devastated existence. Just as the context of the war of aggression was eliminated from the memories of Siberian detention, which are presented as representative victim narratives in Japanese society, the memories of their harm are not integrated even within ‘Chukiren’. This paper attempts to understand the two memories from a continuous perspective by examining the prisoner/war criminal policies of the same socialist country, the Soviet Union and China. We will explore why the Siberian detention experience in Japanese society is remembered as complete damage and why Chukiren members no longer actively reveal what they experienced in the Soviet Union. Therefore, I would like to consider the basis of the victim’s consciousness of the Siberian detainees and the interlayer of the damage and harm that the Chukiren members turned away from.

동아시아에서는 역사 분쟁이 끊임없이 반복되고 있다. 이는 제2차 세계대전에 대한 동아시아 각국의 전쟁 기억의 상이에서 기인한다. 일본이 자신들의 침략전쟁에 대한 반성이 없이 가해의 사실을 지우려는 노력은 현재도 진행중이다. 그러나 이러한 일본에도 끊임없이 자신들의 가해를 증언하고 반전을 호소하는 이들이 존재한다. 중국의 전범관리소에서 수용되었다가 귀환한 이들이 주축이 되어 결성한 ‘중국귀환자연락회’(중귀련)가 그 대표적 예이다. ‘중귀련’은 ‘인죄’(認罪)와 ‘개조(改造)’라는 신중국의 유례없이 관대한 전범정책과 전범재판을 통해 피해자의 입장에서 자신의 가해를 성찰하는 기회를 얻었다. 그들은 가해자로서의 정체성을 확립하고, 귀국 후 가해증언을 통해 중일우호와 반전·평화운동에 평생을 헌신하는 등 정치공동체의 연대책임을 내면화한 주체로 탄생하게 되었다. ‘중귀련’은 일본의 침략전쟁에서 자신들이 저지른 가해 사실을 끊임없이 증언하는 가해자이기도 하지만, 1950년 중국으로 이관되기 이전에 시베리아에서 5년간 억류 되어 강제노동에 종사했던 피해자이기도 하다. 일본의 대표적 피해/가해 기억을 가진 중층적인 존재인 것이다. 일본 사회에서 대표적인 피해 서사로 유통되는 시베리아억류의 기억에서 침략전쟁의 맥락을 소거하여 자신들의 가해 기억을 배제한 것처럼, ‘중귀련’ 내부에서도 이 두 개의 기억이 통합되지 못하고 있다. 본고는 두 기억을 연속적인 시선으로 파악하고자 한다. 같은 사회주의 국가인 소련과 중국의 포로/전범 정책을 파악하여, 왜 일본사회에서 시베리아 억류체험은 완전한 피해의 기억으로 유통되고, 중귀련이 자신들이 소련에서 경험한 일들을 적극적으로 드러내지 않게 되었는지 살펴볼 것이다. 그리하여 시베리아 억류체험자들의 피해의식의 근거와 중귀련 회원들이 외면한 피해와 가해의 중층성에 대해 고찰하고자 한다.

東アジアでは歴史紛争が絶えず繰り返されている。これは第2次世 界大戦に対する各国の戦争記憶の相違に起因する。日本が自分たち の侵略戦争に対する反省なしに加害の事実を消そうとする努力は 現在も進行中だ。しかし, このような日本にも絶えず自分たちの加 害を証言し, 反戦を訴える人々が存在する。中国の戦犯管理所に収 容され, 帰還した人々が中心となって結成した「中国帰還者連絡会」 (中帰連）がその代表例である。「中帰連」は「認罪」と「改造」という 新中国の類例のない寛大な戦犯政策と戦犯裁判を通じて被害者の 立場で自身の加害を省察する機会を得た。彼らは加害者としてのア イデンティティを確立し, 帰国後, 加害証言を通じて日中友好と反 戦·平和運動に一生を献身するなど政治共同体の連帯責任を内面化 した主体として誕生することになった。「中帰連」は日本の侵略戦争 で自分たちが犯した加害事実を絶えず証言する加害者でもあるが, 1950年に中国に移管される以前にシベリアで5年間抑留され強制 労働に従事した被害者でもある。日本の代表的被害/加害記憶を持 つ重層的な存在である。日本社会で代表的な被害敍事として流通す るシベリア抑留の記憶から侵略戦争の脈絡を消去し, 自分たちの加 害記憶を排除したように,「中帰連」内部でもこの二つの記憶が統 合されていない。本稿は二つの記憶を連続的な視線で把握しよう と思う。社会主義国家であるソ連と中国の捕虜/戦犯政策を把握し, なぜ日本社会でシベリア抑留体験は完全な被害の記憶として流通 し, 中貴連が積極的に自分たちがソ連で経験したことを表に出さないようになったのかを調べる。そしてシベリア抑留体験者の被害意識の根拠と中帰連会員たちが無視した被害と加害の重層性について考察しようと思う。
