Since the inauguration of the Yoon Suk-yeol administration, the ROK-US alliance has been upgraded, ROK-Japan relations have rapidly improved and the ROK-US-Japan trilateral security cooperation mechanism is being constructed. However, ROK-China relations have seen a setback, diplomacy was fraught with friction, and the high-level communications have also stalled. These circumstances indicate that the previous hedging strategy of ROK has changed. Now ROK has chosen Strategic clarity. This paper takes the reasons for foreign policy adjustment of the Yoon Suk-yeol administration as the research question. This paper uses the analytical framework of Neoclassical Realism. During the research, it was found that the space for ROK to maintain its hedging strategy has become smaller and as a result of being stimulated by the international system, opinions demanding strategic clarity in ROK have increased. Eventually, ROK made new foreign policy adjustments based on the dual factors of the international system and domestic politics.

윤석열 정부가 출범한 이후 한미동맹은 실질적으로 업그레이드되었고 한일 관계는 개선되었으며, 한미일 3국 안보협력체제가 구축되었다. 반면 한중 관계는 정체되었고, 외교적인 마찰도 발생했다. 이런 상황에서 역대 한국 정부들이 추진했던 헤징 전략이 이제 전략적 명확성이라는 새 전략으로 대체되고 있는 것으로 관찰된다. 본 연구는 윤석열 정부의 대외정책 조정 원인을 연구 대상으로 선정한 후, 신고전현실주 의의 분석틀을 통해 구체적 사안에 대한 분석을 진행했다. 그 결과 한국이 과거 헤징 전략을 추구할 수 있었던 국제 체제 차원에서의 공간이 이제는 거의 사라졌고, 이 요인이 한국 국내 정치에 영향을 주어 한국이 새로운 전략을 선택하도록 추동했다는 점을 발견했 다. 결론적으로 국제 체제와 국내 정치 차원의 요인들이 복합적으로 작용하여 한국은 대외정책 조정을 추진하게 된 것이다.
