This study is devoted to understanding the rhetorical ideals of modern Russian speakers as they appear in a dynamic information and communication environment and to further deepening linguistic interpretation about the ideals. Rhetorical ideals are defined as a normative system for speech and speech behavior that is based on the traditional values of a specific culture but can also change under the influence of socio-historical changes and civilizational factors. By reviewing the results of an existing survey of Russian college students and providing an evaluative commentary on them, an attempt is made to explain the linguistic axiology related to the rhetorical ideals of modern Russian people. The selection of criteria for evaluating public speech and the evaluation of the speaker’s ideal based on these criteria have shown changes according to the historical development of rhetoric, and the evaluation of the speaker oriented as a rhetorical ideal by modern Russian people mainly depends on external effects, his social success, and the consequentiality of the speech behavior. Although the study of rhetorical ideals can be seen as a way to increase the efficiency of linguistic activity and form the rhetorical image of a modern, influential figures, it is important to lay the moral and ethical foundations of rhetoric prior to these pragmatic goals. Accordingly, it can be emphasized that changes are needed in contemporary rhetorical education to improve rhetorical culture.

본 연구는 역동적인 정보 및 의사소통 환경에서 나타나는 현대 러시아어 사용 자들의 수사적 이상(rhetorical ideal)을 이해하고 이에 대한 언어학적 해석을 보 다 심화하는 데 목적을 두고 있다. 수사적 이상은 특정 문화의 전통적인 가치에 기반하지만 동시에 사회-역사적 변화와 문명적 요인의 영향으로 변화할 수 있는 발화 및 발화 행위에 대한 규범 체계로서 정의된다. 러시아 대학생을 대상으로 한 기존 설문 조사 결과를 검토하고 이에 대한 평 가적 해설을 통해 러시아 현대인들의 수사적 이상과 관련된 언어 가치론에 대한 해명이 시도된다. 공적 발화를 평가하기 위한 기준 선택과 이러한 기준을 기반으 로 한 화자의 이상 평가는 수사학의 역사적 발전에 따라 변화를 보여왔고, 오늘 날 수사적 이상으로서 지향되는 화자에 대한 평가는 주로 외부 효과와 사회에서 의 성공, 활동의 결과성으로 귀결된다. 수사적 이상에 관한 연구가 언어 활동의 효율성을 높이고 현대적으로 영향력 있는 인물의 수사학적 이미지를 형성하는 방법으로 간주될 수 있지만, 이러한 실 용주의적 목표에 앞서는 수사학의 도덕적, 윤리적 기초를 닦는 것이 중요하며, 결론적으로 수사학적 문화의 향상을 위한 현시대의 수사교육에서 변화가 필요하 다는 점을 강조할 수 있다.
