This study approaches with the objective of logically presenting an objective composition technique for Korean contemporary music, which can be universally applied, by applying the formation process, the production method of traditional music. To understand the theoretical background of the formation process of traditional music, the study first executed a melody comparison analysis using Dodeuri-based music and Yeominrak-based music as examples and examined the ways in which melodies are derived. Furthermore, to establish objective and substantial evidence for composition techniques derived from the formation process, a comparative analysis between the melodic flow of Namchang Gagok ‘Gyemyeon Dugeo’ and the instrumental ensemble piece ‘Yeomyangchun’ was conducted. Additionally, through the analysis of the musical structure and characteristics of composed Korean contemporary music pieces in the form of concertos, the study explored the potential for applying composition techniques based on the principles of the formation process of traditional music. Continuous research efforts should be made to further explore and propose various composition techniques for the advancement of Korean contemporary music. This study holds significance in that it logically presents an objective composition technique for Korean contemporary music.

본 연구는 전통음악의 생산방식인 형성과정을 응용하여 보편적으로 적용할 수 있는 창작국악을 위한 하나의 객관적인 작곡기법을 논리적으로 제시하고자 하는 목적으로 접근하였다. 이를 위해 먼저 전통음악의 형성 과정에 관한 이론적 배경을 이해하기 위해서 도드 리 계열의 음악과 여민락 계열의 음악을 예로 들어 선율 비교 분석을 실행하고 악곡이 파생되는 방식을 살펴보았다. 그리고 형성 과정을 응용한 작곡기법의 객관적이고도 실체적인 근거를 마련하기 위 해서 남창가곡 계면두거와 관악합주곡 염양춘의 선율 흐름을 비교 분석하였다. 또한 협주곡 양식으로 작곡된 창작국악 작품의 음악적 구조와 특징 분석을 통해서 전통음악의 형성 과정 원리를 응용한 작곡기법의 활용 가능성에 대해서 살펴보았다. 창작국악의 발전을 위해서 다양한 방식의 작곡 기법을 더욱 구체적으로 탐구하고 제시할 수 있는 이와 같은 연구가 지속적으로 수행되어야 한다. 본 연구는 창작국악을 위한 하나의 객관적인 작곡기법을 논리적으로 제시했다는 점에서 그 의의가 있다.
