This study is aimed at understanding the aspects of teaching Korean as a foreign language in North Korea by examining characteristics of the composition and content of all 『Josŏnŏ』 textbooks from volumes 1 to 5 published by KIM IL SUNG University in 2022. The Josŏn Language textbook, the subject of this study, is differentiated from previously developed textbooks, because it states that the textbook was developed based on the Korean language proficiency level developed in 2019 in North Korea. In addition, it has been confirmed that the textbook shows an overall open characteristic compared to existing textbooks, as it is the latest textbook developed after COVID-19. This study, accordingly, attempted to specifically find out the characteristics of Josŏn Language textbook. This study systematically examined the structure of each volume, from the introduction to the final keywords. This study is meaningful in that it examines the latest development of North Korea’s 『Josŏnŏ』 textbook, and the Korean language proficiency level which is North Korea’s standard for developing 『Josŏnŏ』 Textbook.

본 연구는 2022년 김일성종합대학에서 출판한 『조선어(류학생용)』 1권∼5권까지의 전 교재를 대상으로 교재 구성 및 내용상의 특징을 살펴봄으로써 북한에서 이루어지고 있는 외국인을 위한 조선어교육의 면모를 파악하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 본 연구의 대 상인 조선어 교재는 2019년에 개발된 북한의 ‘조선어소유급수기준’에 의거하여 개발된 교재라는 점을 밝히고 있어 기 개발된 교재와 차별성을 갖는다. 또한 코로나19 이후에 개발된 가장 최근의 교재라는 점에서 기존의 교재에 비해 전반적으로 개방적인 성격을 가지고 있음을 확인할 수 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 이러한 조선어 교재의 특성을 구체 적으로 밝히기 위해 각 권의 구성을 머리말에서부터 마지막의 실마리어까지 체계적으 로 살펴보았다. 본 연구는 북한의 조선어 교재 개발의 최근 모습을 전반적으로 살피고, 북한의 조선어 교재 개발 기준인 조선어소유급수기준에 대하여 살펴볼 수 있다는 점에 서 의의가 있다.
