The purpose of this study is to examine the faith development experiences of cradle believer members of the Heavenly Parent’s Holy Community of the Family Federation for World Peace and Unification (FFWPU), focusing on how they establish an independent faith separate from their parents' religious identity. Although there are various types of faith development among cradle believer members of the FFWPU, this research specifically investigates the progressive faith development type, which is the most common type. Progressive faith development is characterized by healthy growth that seeks answers in both physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual domains. The study investigates whether cradle believer members with gradual faith development have experienced a turning point in establishing their own faith independent of their parents, and what kind of environment and efforts were involved. Based on the insights resulted from this study, discussions and suggestions were presented for cradle believer members of the FFWPU from the perspective of the Theology of True Parents.

본 연구는 하늘부모님성회 세계평화통일가정연합 모태신앙자의 신앙발달 경험을 살펴보며, 종교적 정체성인 부모에서 독립된 신앙을 어떻게 가지게 되는지에 대한 고찰을 하는데 목적이 있다. 가정연합 모태신앙자의 신앙발달에는 여러 가지 유형이 있으나 본 연구에서는 가장 많은 유형으로 나타나는 점진적 신앙발달형을 중심으로 고찰하였다. 점진적 신앙발달형은 신체적, 정서적, 심리적인 성장과 영성의 양쪽에서 해답을 얻으려고 하는 건강한 신앙발달의 유형이다. 점진적 신앙발달형을 가진 모태신앙자가 부모를 따른 신앙에서 독립된 본인의 신앙을 확립하는 계기를 맞이하였는지, 어떠한 환경이었는지, 또한 어떤 노력이 있었는지에 대해 밝혔다. 고찰한 내용을 바탕으로 참부모신학의 관점에서 가정연합 모태신앙자를 위한 논의와 제언을 제시하였다.
