The purpose of this study is to investigate the association between domestic violence during childhood and the perpetration of intimate partner violence, and to examine the mediating effect of problem drinking among military personnel. Over approximately four months starting in February 2018, a survey was conducted among military personnel. The final analysis included 321 married individual. A path model was established based on the research hypotheses to examine the relationships between the study variables. The results indicated that exposure to domestic violence during childhood intensified the perpetration of intimate partner violence against their wives. Furthermore, problem drinking mediated the relationship between domestic violence during childhood and intimate partner violence perpetration. Based on the results of this study, policy and practical interventions were suggested to prevent intimate partner violence among military personnel.

본 연구의 목적은 직업군인의 성장기 가정폭력노출경험과 배우자폭력 가해의 관계에서 문제음주의 매개 효과를 검증하여 직업군인의 배우자폭력 가해 예방 및 개입을 위한 단초를 모색하는 데 있다. 이를 위해 직업군인 600명을 대상으로 설문조사를 진행하였고, 장기근속 중인 결혼한 남성 321명을 분석자료로 활용 하였다. SPSS 27.0을 사용하여 빈도분석, 기술통계, 다중회귀분석, 로지스틱회귀분석을 진행하였고 매개효 과 검증을 위해 Process Macro 모델 4를 사용하였다. 주요 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 직업군인의 67.0%가 성장기 가정폭력에 노출된 경험이 있었으며, 중복피해 집단이 43.9%로 가장 많았다. 둘째, 지난 1 년간 배우자폭력을 한 적이 있는 직업군인은 27.7%였으며 성장기 가정폭력노출경험은 배우자폭력 가해에 정적으로 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 문제음주는 직업군인의 성장기 가정폭력노출경 험과 배우자폭력 가해의 관계를 매개하였다. 본 연구의 결과를 바탕으로 직업군인의 배우자폭력 가해 예방 및 개입을 위한 정책적, 실천적 방안을 논의하였다.
