In this study, we conducted research on the evaluation criteria for the fire-retardant and flame-retardant performance of forest firefighting suits worn by firefighters. We investigated guidelines and flame-retardant test methods for the flame-retardant performance of forest firefighting suits in Korea and abroad and collected forest firefighting suit samples to compare their specifications and materials. To compare non-fire-retardant products and products with reduced flame-retardant performance before and after washing among domestic forest firefighter suit samples, we conducted a flame spread prevention test of ISO 15025. As a result of the test, non-fire-retardant and post-fire-retardant products were completely burned regardless of washing before and after, and aramid products maintained their flame-retardant performance, resulting in results that met the judgment criteria. It is expected that this study will contribute to the improvement of the material, performance, and safety of forest firefighting suits by providing directions for the material and guideline standards of firefighting suits.

산불진화대원은 산악지형의 험난한 작업환경에서 산불 진화작업이 이루어진다. 위험성이 높은 화염에 노출 되어있는 업무적 특성상 진화대원 안전성 확보가 매우 중요하다. 본 연구에서는 진화대원이 착용하 는 진화복의 방염 및 난연성능에 대한 평가 기준 연구를 진행하고자 한다. 문헌자료를 통하여 국내외 진화복 난연성능에 관한 지침과 난연성 시험 방법을 조사하였고 진화복 샘플을 수집하여 규격과 소재를 비교하였다. 국내 산불진화복 샘플 중 방염처리가 되지않은 제품과 세탁 전 후 난연성능이 낮아지는 제품을 비교하기 위해 ISO 15025의 화염 확산 방지 실험을 실시하였다. 아래에 버너를 30℃로 기울이고 불꽃을 접염시켜 잔염시간, 잔진시간, 불꽃 확산 등을 측정하였다. 시험 결과 세탁 전과 후와 관계없이 비방염, 후방염 제품은 전체 연소되었고, 아라미드 제품은 난연성능이 유지되어 판정기준에 적합한 결과가 나왔다. 본 연구에서는 진화복 소재와 지침 기준에 대한 방향성을 마련함으로써 산불진화복의 소재 및 성능, 안전성 향상에 기여하할 것으로 예상된다.
