The purpose of this study is to identify the current status and characteristics of college writing education, and to review how the flipped learning teaching method is being applied to the management of college writing subjects. University writing education aims to nurture talents with communication skills required in the age of knowledge and information. Recently, the flipped learning teaching method is being introduced to cultivate students' self-directed learning ability. In this study, the current status and characteristics of university writing subjects were identified through the process of changes in liberal arts education at universities, and class cases in which flipped learning teaching and learning methods were applied for university writing education were analyzed. Dongseo University’s writing subject, [Open Thinking and Expression], identifies how the goal of writing education aimed at is being applied to the composition of textbooks and online class contents, and the content of offline student activities of flipped learning classes linked to the goal of writing education and characteristics were considered. College writing education using flipped learning is expected to contribute to fostering talents required by the times by cultivating students' communication skills and self-directed learning skills.

본 연구의 목표는 대학글쓰기 교육의 현황과 특징을 파악하고, 플립러닝 교수학습방법이 대학글 쓰기 교과 운영에 어떻게 적용되고 있는지를 검토하는 것이다. 대학 글쓰기 교육은 지식정보화 시대가 요구하는 의사소통역량을 갖춘 인재 양성을 목표로 한다. 최근에는 학생들의 자기주도적 학습역량을 함양하기 위해 대학글쓰기 교육에 플립러닝 교수학습방법을 도입하고 있다. 본 고에 서는 대학의 교양국어 교육이 글쓰기교육으로 변화되어 온 과정을 점검하고, 대학 글쓰기 교육에 플립러닝 교수학습방법을 적용한 수업 사례를 분석했다. 동서대학교 글쓰기 교과목인 [열린 사고 와 표현] 교과목이 지향하는 글쓰기 교육의 목표가 교재와 온라인 수업콘텐츠 구성에 어떻게 적 용되고 있는지를 파악하고, 글쓰기 교육의 목표와 연계된 플립러닝 수업의 오프라인 학생활동의 내용과 특징을 고찰했다. 플립러닝을 활용한 대학 글쓰기 교육은 학생들의 의사소통역량과 자기 주도학습 역량을 함양함으로써 시대가 요구하는 인재 양성에 기여할 것으로 판단된다.
