This paper sheds light on God's great mission in Choseon, known as the "Land of Unknown" filled with political turmoil, economic poverty, and all sorts of absurdities, through the establishment of the modern hospital, Jejungwon, which was the first of its kind in Choseon. In the midst of Western nations driven by political greed and ambition seeking to create their own interests through trade during the Enlightenment period in Choseon, the great mission of God began with the arrival of Horace Allen, an American missionary and doctor, to Choseon. Through Dr. Allen, Western-style modern hospitals were established, and through these hospitals, God's mission was carried out in Choseon. Jejungwon, as the first missional church established in Choseon, fully embodied its mission as a mission station for God's mission. It laid the foundation of faith in Choseon, existed as a cooperative body for mission education for the construction of God's kingdom, and was an ecumenical community for mission work in Choseon.

Allen)이 조선에 입국함으로 하나님의 위대한 선교가 시작되었다. 의사인 알렌을 통해 서구 근대식 병원이 세워지고 그 병원을 통해 하나님의 선교가 조선에서 이루어 지게 되었다. 제중원은 조선에 세워진 최초의 선교적 교회로서 하나님의 선교를 위한 선교적 도구로 그 사명을 온전히 실천한 선교스테이션이었다. 조선에 신앙의 기틀을 마련하고, 하나님 나라 건설을 위한 선교교육 공동 체로 존재했으며, 조선 선교를 위한 에큐메니칼 연합공동체였다.
