We are facing a climate crisis on a global scale. However, the Presbyterian Church of Korea (PCK), which is accustomed to the previous mission paradigm focusing on church growth and winning souls, is unable to respond appropriately in a missional way to this crisis. Therefore, primarily considering the overseas mission field, this paper seeks to find a mission theology of the PCK necessary to cope with this crisis. To this end, it will first examine the understanding and practice of missions in response to the climate crisis of the two ecumenical camps―the World Council of Churches and the Lausanne Movement―which have had a great influence on the understanding of the mission of the PCK. Then, under the influence of the two camps, the theological and missional understandings presented in the official documents published by the PCK in response to the climate crisis will be examined. Finally, critically synthesizing the previous discussions, this paper will propose a life-giving mission as the PCK’s mission theology necessary in the era of climate crisis. This life-giving mission aiming at the trinitarian mission of God to enrich life is to participate in God’s mission of enriching the life of the earth community through life ministry through lifeflourishing culture and ministry.

우리는 전 지구적 차원에서 기후 위기에 직면에 있다. 하지만 교회 성 장과 영혼 구원을 강조하는 선교 패러다임에 익숙한 예장통합(Presbyterian Church of Korea, PCK)은 이런 위기에 선교적으로 적절하게 대응하지 못 하고 있다. 따라서 해외선교 현장을 일차적으로 고려하면서, 이 논문은 이 러한 위기에 대응하는 데 필요한 PCK의 선교신학을 모색하고자 한다. 이 를 위해서 이 연구는 먼저 PCK의 선교 이해에 큰 영향을 주고 있는 양대 에큐메니컬 진영―세계교회협의회(World Council of Churches)와 로잔 운 동(Lausanne Movement)―의 기후 위기에 대응하는 선교의 이해와 실천을 살펴볼 것이다. 그런 다음에, 두 진영의 영향 속에서 PCK가 기후 위기에 대응하면서 발표한 공식적 문서들에 나타난 신학적 및 선교적 이해들을 검 토할 것이다. 마지막으로 앞에서 했던 논의를 비판적으로 종합하면서, 이 논문은 기후 위기 시대에 필요한 PCK의 선교신학으로서 생명선교를 제안 한다. 이 생명선교는 생명을 살리고 풍성케 하는 삼위일체적 하나님의 선 교를 지향하는 것으로서 생명 문명을 조성하고, 생명 목회를 통해서 지구 공동체의 생명을 풍성케 하는 하나님의 선교에 참여하는 것이다
