In this article, the format of Jeongak instrumental music was examined by type of music, and the results are summarized as follows. First, by researching the music introduced in the Korean traditional music introductory book, 27 pieces including were understood as regular instrumental music, and based on their musical characteristics, these pieces were divided into the ritual music series, series, series, series, series, and marching music series. It was classified into Jeongak instrumental music by type, such as series. Next, we reviewed the formal types of Korean music presented in the current Korean traditional music introductory book and examined the formal content in the order of Jeongak instrumental music by type. As a result, it was found that it can be divided into an external form that is visible on the outside and an internal form that is not clearly visible on the outside. Among them, the external form appears in the form of a single chapter, a chapter-by-chapter format, and a suite format, while the internal form appears in the form of a repeating dodeuri form and a hanbae form-related tempo form. Lastly, as a result of examining each type of music, the ritual music series mainly corresponds to the suite format, while the series, series, and marching music series correspond to the chapter-by-chapter format. The series is mainly comprised of the external chapter-by-chapter format and the internal format of the dodeuri format, while the series is mostly found to correspond to both the external chapter-by-chapter format and suite format, and the internal format of the hanbae format.

이 글에서는 정악 기악곡의 형식을 악곡 유형별로 살펴보았으며, 그 결과는 다음과 같이 정리된다. 먼저 국악 개론서에 소개된 악곡을 조사하여 <문묘제례악>, <종묘제례악>, <사직제례악>, <정 동방곡>, <영산회상>, <평조회상>, <관악영산회상>, <가즌회상>, <보허자>, <낙양춘>, <보허 사>, <밑도드리>, <잔도드리>, <천년만세>, <여민락>, <여민락만>, <여민락령>, <해령>, <수제 천>, <동동>, <자진한잎>, <청성자진한잎>, <대취타>, <취타>, <길군악>, <길타령>, <별우조타 령> 등의 악곡을 정악기악곡으로 이해하고, 이들 악곡을 음악적 성격을 기준으로 제례악 계열, 영산 회상 계열, 보허자 계열, 여민락 계열, 수제천 계열, 행진악 계열 등의 유형별 정악 기악곡으로 구분 하였다. 다음으로, 현행 국악 개론서에 제시된 한국음악의 형식 유형을 검토하고, 유형별 정악 기악곡의 순으로 형식 내용을 살펴보았으며, 그 결과 겉으로 드러나는 외적 형식과 겉으로 잘 드러나지 않은 내적 형식으로 구분될 수 있음을 알 수 있었다. 그중 외적 형식은 단장 형식, 장별 형식, 모음곡 형식 으로 나타나며, 내적 형식으로는 반복의 도드리 형식, 빠르기와 관련된 한배 형식 등의 유형으로 나 타남을 알 수 있었다. 마지막으로 악곡 유형별로 살펴본 결과, 제례악 계열은 모음곡 형식에 주로 해당하고, 수제천 계 열, 여민락 계열, 행진악 계열은 장별 형식에 해당하는 등 주로 외적 형식으로 나타났다. 보허자 계 열은 외적 형식의 장별 형식과 내적 형식의 도드리 형식이 주축을 이루고 있으며, 영산회상 계열은 대부분 외적 형식의 장별 형식과 모음곡 형식, 내적 형식의 한배 형식 등에 모두 해당하는 것으로 파악되었다.
