The purpose of this study is a descriptive research study to confirm college students' awareness, attitude, and preventive education needs regarding dementia and to analyze the relationship between them. The subjects of the study were 137 students attending W University located in I City, and a survey was conducted through a structured self-questionnaire. The data collection period was conducted from October 12 to 30, 2023. For the collected data, mean, standard deviation, and Pearson’s correlation coefficients were used using spss 23.0. As a result of the study, dementia awareness was 3.64±0.37 points, dementia attitude was 4.18±0.53 points, and dementia prevention education requirements were 22.24±7.07 points. Dementia prevention education needs showed a significant positive correlation with dementia awareness (r=.342) and dementia attitude (r=.545). National and social interest and efforts will be needed to ensure that a curriculum that promotes proper understanding of dementia is applied to college students and that various promotional and preventive education activities that reflect the national dementia policy are carried out.

본 연구의 목적은 대학생들의 치매에 관한 인식과 태도, 치매 예방 교육요구도를 확인하고 이들 간의 관계를 분 석하기 위한 서술적 조사연구이다. 연구 대상자는 I시 소재 W대학에 재학 중인 137명을 대상으로 하였으며, 구조화된 자 가설문지를 자가설문지를 통해 조사를 실시하였다. 자료수집 기간은 2023년 10월 12일부터 30일까지 수행되었다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS 23.0을 사용하여 평균과 표준편차, Pearson’s correlation coefficients을 사용하였다. 연구 결과 치매 인식은 3.64±0.37점이며, 치매 태도는 4.18±0.53점, 치매 예방 교육요구도에 대한 점수는 22.24±7.07점으로 나타났다. 치매 예방 교 육요구도는 치매 인식(r=.342), 치매 태도(r=.545)와 유의한 양의 상관관계를 나타냈다. 대학생에게 올바른 치매에 대한 이해를 증진하는 교육과정이 적용될 수 있도록 하고 국가 치매 정책을 반영한 다양한 홍보 및 예방적 교육 활동이 이루어질 수 있도록 국가적·사회적 관심과 노력이 필요할 것이다. 키워드 :
