The purpose of this study is to research into parents’ preferences of Taekwondo Poomsae and demonstration programs being activated. For this purpose, 12 parents with their children training Taekwondo were interviewed about their preferences of the programs. The researcher sampled 6 Taekwondo studios training the children focused on demonstration and Poomsae and thereby, conducted an interview with 12 parents. This study may well be concluded as follows; the parents with their children training Taekwondo focusing on Poomsae paid attention to the selection of Taekwondo Poomsae game at World Universiade and Asian Games. Thus, they wished that their children would win the gold medal at these games to be exempted from the military service. In contrast, those parents with their children training Taekwondo focusing on demonstrations wished that their children would enter the college easily. They were interested in such colleges recruiting the Taekwondo practitioners as Chosun University, Dong-A University, Gachon University, Baekseok University, etc. Lastly, some of the parents interviewed were highly interested in the prize money awarded at the breaking competition organized by some Taekwondo associations. Other incentives favored by the parents were the bonus points for the Taekwondo black belt in the public official test, while the Taekwondo black belts may well be some incentives for the children who wish to enter the Korea National Police University, Navy Academy or Airforce Academy.

본 연구의 목적은 전문적인 태권도 품새, 시범 교육 프로그램의 활성화로 품새, 시범 목적을 가지고 태권도장을 선택한 학부모를 상대로 선호도 조사가 이루어졌다. 연구 대상자는 G 광역시 시범, 품새 중심 도장 6곳에, 학부모 12명의 면담 인터뷰를 진행하였다. 도출된 주요 결론은 다음과 같다. 품새 전문 도장을 선택한 학부모는 세계유니버시아드 선수 권대회와 아시안게임에 품새 종목이 채택됨으로써, 대회 입상자 연금 혜택 관심도와 함께 품새 선호도가 높게 나타났으 며, 금메달 입상자는, 군 면제 특혜라는 큰 수혜의 이유로 품새 전문 도장을 선호하는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 시범 전문 도장을 선택한 학부모는 대학입시에 대한 관심이 높게 나타났고, 그에 따른 조선대, 동아대, 가천대, 백석대 등 태권도 학과 대학에서 수시 합격에 대한 관심도가 높게 나타났다. 마지막으로는 태권도 유관단체 주관 격파 대회의 상금에 관한 관심도가 높은 것으로 나타났으며, 그 외 단증 취득, 공무원 가산점, 경찰대, 해군, 공군 사관학교 입학 등의 목적으로 나타났다.
