The purpose of this study was to explore the experience and meaning of an individual's career exploration and career maturity process through elementary school students' museum education experience. The study was conducted through participant observation and in-depth interviews by selecting five elementary school students who participated in Eugene Folk Museum's career exploration program 『Curator Haedrim』 as research participants. Exploring the world of work in museums is an experiential activity that deals with direct experience. Field experience in museums allowed for work experience with a clear goal and exploration of a career path related to the individual's future. The content was helpful for learners' career decision-making and expansion of career awareness. The research was meaningful in that it dealt with areas directly related to life that respond to learners' aptitude and personality, and the research provided an opportunity to expand the importance of museum education and the sociocultural role of museums. These programs are expected to be helpful in the management and development of museums in the new cultural era. Based on the research results, the museum will expand and develop the museum's educational content into a career/job exploration course in the future to enable students to enjoy culture while exploring various occupational groups. An efficient educational program must be developed to enable this.

본 연구는 초등학생의 박물관 교육 경험을 통한 개인의 진로탐색과 진로성숙 과정의 경험과 그 의미를 탐 색하는 데 목적을 두었다. 연구는 유진민속박물관의 진로탐색 프로그램 『큐레이터해드림』에 참여한 초등학 생 5명을 연구참여자로 선정하고 참여관찰과 심층면담을 통해 이루어졌다. 박물관 속 직업세계의 탐색은 직접 경험을 다루는 체험활동으로써 박물관에서 현장경험은 목표가 분명한 업무체험과 개인의 미래와 연관되어 있 는 진로를 탐색할 수 있었으며, 내용은 학습자의 진로의사 결정과 진로의식 확대에 기여하였다. 본 연구는 학 습자들이 가지고 있는 적성과 개성을 반응하는 삶의 영역을 박물관과 진로탐색에 적용했다는 점에서 의미가 있었고, 연구를 통해서 박물관 교육의 중요성과 박물관의 사회문화적 역할이 확장되는 계기를 마련하였다. 이 러한 교육프로그램이 새로운 문화시대의 박물관 경영과 발전에 도움이 될 것으로 기대하면서, 연구결과를 바 탕으로 향후 박물관은 박물관의 교육 내용을 진로직업탐색과정으로 확대, 개발하여 다양한 직업군을 탐색하면 서도 문화를 향유할 수 있도록 프로그램이 개발되어야 할 것이다.
