This study was conducted to explore the effects of MBTI personality types and interpersonal relationships on communication skills among nursing students, and to provide foundational data for enhancing these skills. The participants were nursing students enrolled at a four-year university in Gyeongbuk G City, and data collection was carried out from September 10 to September 27, 2022. Data analysis was performed using SPSS 25.0, through methods including Pearson’s correlation, independent sample t-test, and one-way ANOVA, with post-hoc verification by Scheffé test. The results showed that extroverted students had an average interpersonal relationship score of 3.61 out of 5 and an average communication skills score of 3.72. In contrast, introverted students scored an average of 3.25 in interpersonal relationships and 3.32 in communication skills. Significant differences were observed in interpersonal relationships(p<.001) and communication skills(p<.001) based on MBTI type. Additionally, MBTI type was positively correlated with both interpersonal relationships (p<.001) and communication skills (p<.001). Given these findings, it is suggested that universities and departments should develop and implement seminars and programs aimed at improving interpersonal relationships and communication skills, particularly for introverted nursing students.

이 연구는 간호대학생의 MBTI 성격 유형과 대인관계 능력이 의사소통능력에 미치는 영향을 알아보고, 의사 소통 능력 향상을 위한 기초자료를 제시하고자 시행되었다. 연구 대상자는 경북 G시에 소재하고 있는 4년제 대학교에 재학 중인 간호학과 학생들을 대상으로 하였으며, 자료수집은 2022년 09월 10일부터 9월 27일까지 실시되었다. 자료 분석은 SPSS 26.0 프로그램을 이용하여 Pearson’s correlation, Independent sample t-test, One-way ANOVA로 분석하고 Scheffé test로 확인하였다. 이 연구대상자 중 외향형 유형의 대인관계는 5점 만 점에 평균 3.61점이었고, 의사소통능력은 5점 만점에 평균 3.72점으로 나타났다. 내향형의 경우에는 대인관계 능력은 5점 만점에 평균 3.25점이었으며, 의사소통 능력은 평균 3.32점으로 나타났으며, MBTI 유형에 따른 대 인관계 능력(p<.001) 및 의사소통능력(p<.001)은 모두 유의한 차이를 보였다. 간호대학생들의 MBTI 성격유형(E 와 I)에 따른 대인관계 능력 및 의사소통 능력의 관계성에서 MBTI유형이 대인관계 능력(p<.001), 의사소통 능력 (p<.001)과 양의 상관관계가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이상의 연구 결과를 보았을 때, 대학 및 학과 차원에서 내 향형인 간호대학생을 대상으로 대인관계·의사소통 역량 강화 세미나, 프로그램의 개발 및 적용이 필요할 것 이라 생각된다.
