This study was designed to analyze the effects of brain wave training using Neuro Sound Technology (NST) on the sleep quality and emotional propensity of the elderly. From September 2022 to November 2022, an intervention was conducted on seniors aged 70 or older receiving day care at S Senior Welfare Center in U City. There were 40 participants (20 in the experimental group and 20 in the control group). The experimental group performed NST training twice a week for 30 minutes each, for a total of 30 times. Factor analysis pre and post intervention was compared through the Brain Function Analysis Report (BFA) and questionnaire (sleep pattern) developed by the Korea Neuroscience Research Institute, and significant differences were found in sleep quality and emotional propensity in the group that applied NST training. These results indicate that brain wave training through NST has a positive effect on the sleep quality and emotional propensity of the elderly. However, because the participants are limited to U City, it is difficult to generalize the research results, and expansion of the number of experimental participants is required.

본 연구는 Neuro Sound Technology(NST)를 이용한 뇌파훈련이 노인의 수면의 질과 정서성향에 미치 는 영향을 분석하기 위한 연구이다. 2022년 9월부터 2022년 11월까지 U시 S노인복지회관에서 데이케어를 받고 있는 70세 이상 노인을 대상으로 중재를 실시하였다. 참여자는 40명(실험군 20, 대조군 20)이었으며. 실험군은 NST훈련을 주 2회, 1회 30분, 총 30회 실시하였다. 중재 전과 후의 요인 분석은 한국뇌과학연구소에서 개발한 뇌 기능분석보고서(BFA)와 설문지(수면양상)를 통하여 비교하였으며, NST훈련을 적용한 집단에서 수면의 질과 정서 성향에서 유의미한 차이를 보였다. 이 결과는 NST를 통한 뇌파훈련이 노인의 수면의 질과 정서성향에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것을 나타낸다. 다만 대상자가 U시에 국한되어 있어서 연구결과를 일반화하기 어려우며, 더 많은 실험참여자의 확대가 요구된다.
