This study began with the finding that the roles and records of women in modern society are very different from those in the Old Testament. Therefore, in this study, we will look at the roles of women in the Old Testament, find hidden aspects of women depicted in the Old Testament, and try to present new roles for women through them. Because many women appear in the Old Testament, it is not possible to cover them all due to space constraints. Therefore, we will select one person from each era to study. We will study Isaac’s mother Rebekah during the patriarchal era, Shiphrah and Puah during the Exodus era, Jephthah’s daughter during the Judges era, and Abigail during the monarchy era. The selection criteria were based on little-known figures. The research method will be conducted using a literature survey method. We will study the role of women in the Old Testament by studying the literature on the roles of women in the Old Testament and the characteristics and types of those roles.

본 연구는 현대 사회 여성의 역할과 기록이 구약성서와는 너무 큰 차이를 가지고 있다는 것에서 시작되었다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 구약 성서의 여성의 역할들을 살펴보면서 구약성서에서 묘사된 숨겨져 있 는 여성의 모습을 찾아보며 그것을 통하여 여성에 대한 역할을 새롭게 제시하여 보려고 한다. 구약성서에는 많은 여성이 등장하고 있어서, 지면 관계상 모두를 다룰 수는 없다. 따라서 시대별로 한 명씩을 선택 하여 연구하려 한다. 족장 시대에는 이삭의 어머니 리브가를 선택하였 으며, 출애굽 시대에는 십브라와 부아, 사사시대에서는 입다의 딸, 그리고 왕정 시대에서는 아비가일을 선택하여 연구하려 한다. 선택의 기준은 잘 알려지지 않은 인물들을 기준으로 삼았다. 연구 방법은 문헌조사 방법을 사용하여 진행할 것이다. 구약성서에 나타난 여성들의 역할과 그 역할이 가지고 있는 특성과 유형에 대한 문헌들을 연구하여 구약성서에 나타난 여성들의 역할이 어떠했는지를 연구할 것이다.
