As a result of the study, the degree of application of biophilic elements in department store indoor relaxation spaces was overall superior to the relaxation spaces in department store cases 1 and 2 opened after 2021 and compared to cases 3 and 4 before 2021, further maximizing the function of relaxation. It has been figured out. However, since there are some spaces that are partially average or insufficient, it is necessary to improve the degree of application of biophilic design elements and plan to utilize biophilic design by considering the spatial characteristics of the rest area as suggested previously. Through the study, we can see that the typical resting area of a department store, which is closed on all sides, filled with stores, and has no windows so that you don't notice the passage of time, is changing into a non-profit space. If you look at department stores built after 2021, it is an unconventional move to drastically reduce the product sales space and use the sales area as a relaxation hall to decorate the interior as a space for landscaping and relaxation. In this way, indoor relaxation spaces are also expanding into spaces for eating, drinking, and enjoying. This change will have a positive impact on consumers due to the biophilic effect analyzed through theoretical considerations.
