Host Plants Selection and Inoculation Timing on Propagation of Loranthus tanakae (Loranthaceae) in Korea

초록

영어

Loranthus tanakae Franch. et Sav is known as a medicinal plant with the anticancer effects and several reports on artificial cultivation were published. We were performed the trial that various host plants selection and optimal inoculation timing for propagation. Seeds of Loranthus tanakae collected in Mt. Hwang-jeong, Hongcheon, Gangwon-do. The inoculation kits [11 mm in diameter (6 mm inner diameter) × 5 mm in length) consists with 4 seeds having mucilaginous substances after removing of fruits skin were attached to branches of various host plants. The inoculation time was from mid-February and mid-March, 2017. The seeds were collected before one week of inoculation and inoculation kits were made before one day. At early June, the inoculation rate of 25 host plants was evaluated according to the presence and/or absence of haustorium adhesive. The survival rate of Loranthus tanakae seeds was better in March than February. Of 46 host plants, Sorbus commixta Hedlund, Tilia amurensis Rupr. and Acer tegmentosum Maxim. showed 100%, 100% and 90.7%, respectively. Although Malus pumila Mill. showed a survival rate of 61.2%, of them only Fuji cultivar expressed those of 91.7%. The haustorium was attached to various host plants and cotyledon developments should be checked in the next 2 years for successive evaluation of inoculation rates.
