[Purpose] The purpose of this study was to specifically identify the process of introducing park golf, which is leading the paradigm of leisure sports for the elderly in Korea. [Method] Various literature data related to the introduction process of park golf were analyzed, and interviews were conducted with figures such as Baek Seung-du, Kim Gye-ja, and Cho Young-gyu related to the process. [Result] In Korea, the park golf course built in Jinju Senior Welfare Town (Sanglakwon) began. In July 1996, Mayor Baek Seung-du of Jinju City came across Park Golf by chance while visiting Kitami City, Japan, a sister city, and when Baek Seung-du, who encountered Park Golf in Kitami City, instructed Kim Gye-ja, who was in charge of building the Senior Welfare Town, Cho Young-kyu, a practitioner in charge, visited Kitami City to secure overall matters such as how to play the park golf, operation plans, and equipment. [Conclusion] Baek Seung-du, Kim Gye-ja, and Cho Young-kyu were the contributors to the introduction of park golf in Korea, which was a historical turning point for the elderly leisure sports enjoyed by more than 150,000 people to be transplanted into us.

[목적] 본 연구는 우리나라 노인 여가 스포츠의 패러다임을 주도하고 있는 파크골프가 도입된 과정을 구체적으로 규 명하는 것을 연구의 목적으로 설정하였다. [방법] 파크골프의 도입과정과 관련된 각종 문헌자료를 분석하였고, 그 과 정에 관련된 백승두, 김계자, 조영규라는 인물에 대한 인터뷰를 수행하였다. [결과] 우리나라의 파크골프는 진주 노 인종합복지타운(상락원)에 만들어진 파크골프장이 효시이다. 1996년 7월, 백승두 진주시장이 자매결연 도시인 일본 기타미시를 방문하면서 우연히 파크골프를 접하게 된 것이 시발점이 되었고, 기타미시에서 파크골프를 접한 백승두 가 노인종합복지타운 건립 담당자였던 김계자에게 파크골프장 설립을 추진하도록 지시했다. 그 과정에서 담당 실무 자였던 조영규가 일본을 방문해 파크골프의 경기방법, 운영계획, 장비 등 전반적인 사항을 확보했다. [결론] 백승두, 김계자, 조영규와 같은 진주시 관계자들은 우리나라 파크골프의 도입에 결정적인 초석을 쌓은 인물들이었으며, 그들 의 노력은 15만 명 이상이 즐기는 파크골프가 한국의 노인 여가로 이식될 수 있었던 역사적 촉매제였다.
