Poet Kim Soo-young made literary efforts to resolve the backwardness of Korea. Korea has not yet solved the problem of a divided nation, and the ‘paradigm revolution’ that poet Kim Soo-young was trying to talk about includes ‘post-colonial literary theory’ and ‘desire for peaceful unification’ toward the United States. The issue of unification of the Korean Peninsula must be resolved through ‘love’ with otherness. In the modern age of loss of existence, overcoming nihilism is discovering ‘nothing.’ Through his prose, Kim Soo-young said he was trying to learn ‘literary theory of Western colonialism.’ ‘Literary theory of Western colonialism’ is Heidegger’s ‘Western metaphysics’ that appears in Kim Soo-young’s prose. Kim Soo-young’s poetry is not modernism, but ‘postmodernism’ and ‘transmodernism.’ Modernism is a novelty to the Middle Ages and the death of Christianity. Postmodernism emerged as a revolt against the reason-centered society as a solution to World War II. Poet Kim Soo-young experienced the Korean War and went to a prisoner-of-war camp, which had an important effect on his poetry, so ‘postmodernism’ and ‘transmodernism’ are more correct. The author calls ‘transmodernism’ the breaking down of the boundary between pure poetry and participatory poetry and encountering the poet’s world of ‘nothingness.’

김수영 시인이 당대 한국의 낙후성을 해결하려는 문학 노력이 있었다. 한국은 현재에도 분단국가 문제를 해결하지 못했으며, 김수영 시인이 이 야기하려던 ‘패러다임 혁명’으로 미국에 대한 ‘탈식민주의 문학론’과 ‘평 화통일 염원’이 있다. 한반도의 통일 문제가 타자성이 있는 ‘사랑’으로 해결되어야 한다. 현대 존재 상실의 시대에 허무주의의 극복은 ‘무(無)’를 발견하는 것이다. 김수영의 산문으로 김수영이 ‘서구 식민주의 문학론’을 배우려고 한다고 했다. ‘서구 식민주의 문학론’이 김수영 산문에 나오는 하이데거의 ‘서구 형이상학’이다. 김수영 시는 모더니즘이 아닌 ‘포스트 모더니즘’, ‘트랜스모더니즘’이다. 모더니즘은 중세에 대한 새로움이고, 기독교의 죽음이다. 포스트모더니즘은 세계 대전의 전쟁에 대한 해결로 이성 중심의 사회에 반기를 들고 나온 것이다. 김수영 시인은 한국전쟁을 겪었고, 포로수용소에 갔었던 것이 시에 중요한 작용을 했기 때문에 ‘포 스트모더니즘’, ‘트랜스모더니즘’이 더 맞다. 순수시와 참여시의 경계는 허물어지고 시인의 ‘무(無)’의 세계를 만나는 것을 필자는 ‘트랜스모더니 즘’이라고 이야기한다.
