National Treasure No. 76, Nanjung Ilgi (War Diary of Admiral Yi Sun-sin) was written by Admiral Yi Sun-sin during the war(壬辰倭亂, 1592-1598). The naval commander's direct diary during the seven-year war(1592.1.1.1.~1598.11.17) was designated as the Memory of the World (registered, June 2013). However, this diary contains various Archeery cultures. Nanjung Ilgi currently has a diary of 1594 days out of seven years and 2506 days, and the date on which the Archeery culture was recorded is 316. This study reveals various Archeery cultures that were not found in previous studies by precisely finding and studying Nanjung Ilgi. The various archery cultures found in Nanjung Ilgi are as follows. They include the social atmosphere(有德・修行) and values for archery culture, social relations and recreational activities, the types and materials of bows and arrows(弓矢), the use of places where bows are shot (射亭, 射廳, 射場 etc.), military training and weapons (especially naval).

국보 제76호, 『난중일기(亂中日記)』는 이순신장군이 전쟁(壬辰倭亂, 1592-1598) 중에 쓴 것이다. 해군사령관이 진중(陣中)에서 7년 (1592.1.1.~1598.11.17.) 동안 일기로 직접 기록한 것은 특별한 것이므로 세계기록유산(Memory of the World)으로 지정(등재, 2013.6.)되었다. 그런 데 이 일기에는 다양한 궁도문화가 담겨져 있다. 『난중일기』는 7년, 2,506일의 날짜 중 현재, 1,594일의 일기가 존재하 며, 활쏘기문화가 기록된 날짜는 316일이다. 이 연구는 『난중일기』를 정 밀하게 찾아 연구하는 작업으로 선행연구에서 찾지 못한 다양한 활쏘기 문화를 밝힌다. 『난중일기』에서 찾아낸 다양한 활쏘기문화는 다음과 같다. 활쏘기에 대한 사회적 분위기(有德을 위한 修行)와 가치(德行의 觀 德), 사회적 관계와 유희활동, 궁시(弓矢)의 종류와 재료, 활터(射亭, 射 廳, 射場 등)의 활용 형태, 군사훈련과 병기(특히, 水軍) 등이다.
