In this paper, we examined the development process and the content of the new liberal arts mathematics textbook for pre-service elementary school teachers from the perspective of the mathematical knowledge for teaching. As a result, it covers many materials for the subject matter knowledge, not only for the common content knowledge, but also for the special content knowledge and the horizon content knowledge, showing difference from other textbooks. The first class using the textbook was conducted in the first semester of 2023, and a qualitative analysis was performed on the classwork essay submitted by the students after the class was finished. Through this, it was confirmed that the mathematics knowledge for teaching covered in the class based on the textbook was meaningful to the students, and points that needed improvement were found in the developed textbook.

본 연구에서는 예비초등교사를 위해 본 연구자가 수학교사 지식(Mathematical Knowledge for Teaching)의 관점에서 개발한 새로운 교양수학 교재의 개발 과정과 내용을 살펴보았다. 그 결과 교재에서 교과 내용 지식(Subject Matter Knowledge)을 많이 다루고 있으며, 공통 내용 지식(Common Content Knowledge) 뿐만 아니라 전 문화된 내용지식(Special Content Knowledge)과 수학적 식견으로서의 지식(Horizon Content Knowledge)도 많이 다루고 있어 기존의 교재들과의 차별성이 드러났다. 2023년 1학기에 개발된 교재로 첫 수업을 진행하였는데, 수업을 마친 후에 수강생 들이 제출한 소감문에 대해 질적 자료 분석을 수행한 결과, 수업시간에 다루어진 수학교사 지식들이 학생들에게 도움이 되었음을 확인할 수 있었다. 그리고 이를 통 해 교재를 수업으로 구현할 때에 고려해야 할 점들을 찾을 수 있었다.
