The In order to investigate research trends in elementary school clothing and life theses, this study selected 171 papers published from 1986 to 2023 in journals related to clothing & life education or clothing life contents among KCI registered journals or its candidate ones, and analyzed them by period, research area, and research area. Diving the analysis by research topic, research method, and author, I found the following results. First of all, 144(84.2%) papers related to elementary school clothing & life education were published mostly at the Korean Journal of Practical Education or at the Journal of Practical Education Research, wherein a total of 24 papers(14.0%) were related to elementary school clothing & life content, with dominance in the field of education. Second, in terms of research area, 'teaching and learning methods and textbook research(33.9%) was the largest, followed by research on elementary school life content, educational content, curriculum and textbooks, educational awareness, complex areas and educational evaluation. Third, in research topic, 'overall clothing and lifestyle unit'(35.7%) was more popular than 'clothing selection and self-expression', clothing and environment, complex topic, clothing culture, Clothing design, clothing management. Fourth, in research method, literature research(30.4%) was equal to survey research, followed by Experimental researchand case study. Fifth, when it comes to the status of authors published in academic journals, many studies were authored by one author or two authors, while the co-authorship rate is as so low as 50.8% that collaborative research may need to be strengthened in the future for academic development. Sixth, comparing the research trends of elementary school cclothing & life education research and elementary school clothing & life content research, the number of papers published in the former (on education) was six times higher than the number of papers in the latter (on content), probably due to the recent research growth in the number of papers of the former after the year 2000, whereas an average of 2 articles are consistently published per year in the latter case. Clothing & life education research is found to be different from content research in many respects. The research area in the field of elementary school clothing & life education focused on curriculum due to recent curriculum reform. And a major research method in the field of elementary school clothing & life education was literature research or experimental research, while survey method was popular in the content research. In addition, in terms of the status of authors published in academic journals, many papers in the former were written by one author, while the latter mostly by coauthors of university professors and elementary school teachers. Suggestions based on the results of this research are as follows. Firstly, more research need to be done on 'subject awareness' and 'educational evaluation' related to elementary school clothing & life education, and secondly, more research will be conducted on 'subject awareness' and 'educational evaluation' in the field of elementary school life education. Secondly, more integrated research shall be conducted to combine clothing & life education and content area rather than silo-based approach. Third, although the number of authors is single or two-person in most cases, three or more authors from both fields may collaborate and improve the quality of their research papers. Fourth, digitalization may be adopted in research for development of practice-related teaching and learning methods in digital transformation era.

본 연구는 초등의생활 논문의 연구 동향을 알아보기 위하여 KCI 등재지와 등재후보지 중 의생활 교육 관련 학회지와 의생활 내용 관련 학회지에서 1986년부터 2023년까지 실린 논문 171편을 선정하여 시기별, 연구영역별, 연구주제별, 연구 방법별, 저자별로 나누어 분석하였으며, 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 초등의생활 교육 관련 논문은 한국실과교육학회지와 실과교육연구를 중심으로 144편(84.2%) 이 게재되었고, 초등의생활 내용 관련 논문은 총 24편(14.0%)으로 교육학의 논문 비율이 높았다. 둘째, 연구영역별로 분석한 결과 교수·학습법 및 교재 연구(33.9%)가 가장 많았고, 초등의생활 내용 관련 연구, 교육 내용, 교육과정 및 교과서, 교과 인식, 복합영역, 교육평가 순이었다. 셋째, 연구주제별로 보 면 의생활 단원 전반(35.7%), 의복의 선택과 자기표현, 의복과 환경, 복합주제, 복식문화, 의복 디자인, 의복 관리 순이었다. 넷째, 연구 방법별로 보면 문헌 연구와 조사연구가 30.4%로 같은 비율이며, 실험 연구, 사례연구 순이었다. 다섯째, 학회지에 게재된 저자 현황을 살펴보면, 저자 1인과 2인 연구가 많고 공저율이 50.8%로 낮아, 학문적 발전을 위해 협력적 연구가 활성화될 필요가 있다. 여섯째, 초등의생 활 교육 분야와 초등의생활 내용 분야의 연구 경향을 비교하면, 논문 게재 수는 초등의생활 교육 관련 논문 수가 6배가 많았고, 시기별 연구 동향에서는 의생활 교육 관련 학회지는 2000년 이후에 논문 편 수가 증가하는 경향을 보이는 것에 반해 의생활 내용 관련 학회지에는 평균 2편 정도 꾸준히 게재되는 것에 차이점이 있다. 연구영역은 초등의생활 교육 분야는 교육과정 개편에 따라 차이를 보여 교육과정 과 연관성이 크며, 연구 방법은 초등의생활 교육 분야는 문헌 연구와 실험연구의 비율이 높으며, 초등 의생활 내용 분야에서는 조사연구가 높아 서로 차이가 있다. 저자 현황도 의생활 교육 관련 학회지에 는 저자 1명인 논문이 많고, 공저 비율이 낮으며, 직업은 교육대학교 교수와 초등교사의 비율이 높았다. 의생활 내용 관련 학회지는 저자 2명의 논문이 많으며, 공저 비율도 높았다. 본 논문의 결과를 통해 제언하면 첫째, 초등의생활 교육 관련 분야의 연구영역에서 교과 인식과 교 육평가에 관한 연구가 더 이루어지기를 바라고, 둘째, 초등의생활 교육 분야와 초등의생활 내용 분야가 분리된 것이 아니라 통합적인 연구영역과 연구주제에 관심을 가지고 진행되었으면 한다. 셋째, 저자 수 도 연구 논문의 질적 향상을 위해 협력하여 두 분야 연구자들의 공동연구가 필요하다. 넷째, 온라인 시 대와 디지털 시대에 대비한 실습 관련 교수·학습법을 개발하는 연구도 시급히 진행되어야 할 것이다.
