This study was designed to examine Korea-China relations since the inauguration of the present government. To achieve this, a comparative analysis of media coverage was conducted, focusing on differences in attitudes towards Korea-China relations between central government newspapers in Beijing and local governments newspapers. Through the result, it was observed that China emphasizes the maintenance and improvement of Korea-China relations, both directly and indirectly, since they recognize its importance. This was evident across various aspects beyond simple exchanges between South Korea and China, spanning culture, economic trade, and human interactions. Chinese central newspapers emphasized larger discourses such as economy and peace, while local newspapers highlighted more micro-level and substantial dimensions of mutual exchange, emphasizing cultural and social interactions. Furthermore, it was confirmed that maintaining friendly relations between South Korea and China is interconnected with regional peace, specifically peace on the Korean Peninsula and in the East Asia region.

본 연구는 현 정부 출범 이후 한중관계를 확인하고자 설계되었다. 이를 위해 북경을 중심으로 한 정부 기 관지와 지역 정부의 지방지 상호 간 한중관계 태도에 차이가 있을 것으로 판단하고 이에 대한 언론보도 비교 분석을 실시하였다. 본 연구를 통해 중국은 한중관계 유지·개선을 직·간접적으로 강조하고 있으며, 그 중요성에 대해서도 인 지하고 있음을 확인할 수 있었다. 이는 한중 양국 간 단순 교류를 넘어 문화, 경제무역, 인문교류 등 다양한 부분에 걸쳐서 나타났다. 중국 중앙신문은 경제, 평화 등 보다 큰 담론, 지방신문은 문화, 인문사회 교류 등 보다 미시적이고 실질적 차원의 상호 교류를 강조하고 있었다. 또한 한중 양국 간 우호적인 관계 유지가 지역 평화, 즉 한반도 및 동아시아 지역 평화와 연계 되어져 있음을 확인하였다.
