Modern society is an era of networks ushered in by innovations in information and communication technology, and various work styles have emerged that allow people to autonomously choose time and space. As one of them, the workcation phenomenon was analyzed from the perspective of the mobility paradigm to understand the meaning, utility, pain, and ripple effects inherent in movement, and comprehensively reveal the meaning of the workcation phenomenon and changes in social space. Accordingly, This study analyzed in-depth interviews with related businesses, workcation participants, policymakers, and experts and related secondary data targeting Jeju, one of the workcation area regions. As a result, in the workcation phenomenon, changes were discovered in which social exclusion was alleviated through the characteristics of network capital, such as autonomy in time and space, and through policy support. In addition, the workcation experience has contributed to changing the spatial perception of individuals and companies, and is expected to become established as a welfare system or a work styles in the future. This shows the possibility that society will change from a balance between work and leisure to integration. In the social space of the workcation area, there is the utility of creativity, but the pain of conflict with the local community coexists. A variety of social and physical ripple effects were discovered, such as improving work culture, community development, and lodging space suitable for new mobility patterns, going beyond simply providing office space centered on workcation businesses. In addition to workcation, the introduction of various work styles is also having an impact on urban planning, and it is predicted that in the future, residents and living populations will use everyday spaces together.

현대사회는 정보통신기술의 혁신으로 맞이한 네트워크의 시대로, 시·공간을 자율적으로 선택할 수 있는 다양한 근무 형태가 나타나고 있다. 그중 하나로 워케이션 현상에 대해 모빌리티 패러다임의 관점에서 이동에 내재한 의미, 효용과 고통, 파급효과 등을 분석하여 현상의 의미와 사회공간의 변화를 종합적으로 밝 히고자 하였다. 이에 워케이션 지역 중 제주도를 대상으로 관련 사업체, 워케이션 참여자, 정책담당자, 전문 가의 심층 인터뷰와 관련 2차 자료를 분석하였다. 그 결과, 워케이션 현상에서 시·공간의 자율성이라는 네트 워크 자본의 특성과 정책적 지원을 통해 사회적 배제가 완화되는 변화를 발견하였다. 또한 워케이션 경험은 개인과 기업의 공간 인식을 전환하는 데 기여하였으며, 향후 복지제도 또는 하나의 근무형태로 자리 잡을 전 망이다. 이는 우리 사회가 일과 여가의 균형을 넘어 통합으로 변화할 가능성을 보여준다. 워케이션 지역의 사 회공간에는 창조성의 효용이 있는 한편 지역사회와의 갈등의 고통이 공존하고 있고, 워케이션 사업체를 중 심으로 단순히 업무공간을 제공하는 것에서 나아가 일하는 문화 개선, 커뮤니티 발전, 새로운 이동 행태에 맞 는 숙박 공간 등 다양한 사회적·물리적 파급효과가 나타나고 있음을 발견하였다. 그리고 워케이션을 포함한 다양한 근무 형태의 도입은 도시계획에도 영향을 미치고 있으며, 미래에는 주민과 생활인구가 함께 일상 공 간을 이용하는 형태를 보일 것으로 예측된다.
