This paper looks for the characteristics of intimacy, life, and the search for coexistence that emerge in Japanese robot-related content and narratives, and examines their meanings. In contrast to Western narratives of robots, which often reveal anxieties and fears about robots, Japanese robot-related narratives have tended from the beginning to depict intimacy, life, and coexistence between humans and robots. This trend has since been and continues to be reflected in the direction of Japanese robot-related content and actual robot development, which has changed with the development of technology. These characteristics of Japanese robot culture will no doubt provide an interesting reference for finding answers to the question of how to understand and accept them in a world that now lives with robots.

본 논문은 일본의 로봇 관련 콘텐츠와 서사 등에서 나타나는 친근함이나 생명, 공존의 모색과 같은 특징을 살펴보고 그 의미를 고찰한 것이다. 서양의 로봇 관련 서사들이 많은 경우 로봇에 대한 불안함이나 공포를 드러냈던 데 비해, 일본의 로봇 관련 서사들은 초기부터 인간과 로봇의 친근함, 생명, 공존 등을 묘사하는 경향이 있었다. 이런 경향은 이후 기술의 발달과 함께 변화 한 일본의 로봇 관련 콘텐츠나 실제의 로봇개발 방향성에도 반영되었으며, 현재까지도 이어진다. 이러한 일본적 로봇 상상의 문화는 이제 로봇과 함께 살아가는 세계에서 그들을 어떻게 이해하고 받아들일 것인가라는 질문의 해답을 찾는 흥미로운 참고자료가 될 수 있다.
