This study is a descriptive research conducted to identify predictive factors of patient safety competency of geriatric hospitals nurses and use basic data to improve patient safety competency. Subjects were 234 nurses and data were collected from July 16 to October 5, 2023. Data were analyzed t-test, ANOVA, Scheffe’s test, Pearson correlation coefficients and Multiple regression analysis using the SPSS 29.0. Patient safety competency was positive correlated with perception of the importance of patient safety management(r=.19, p<.01), patient safety competency skill and knowledge(r=.87, p<.001), skill and patient safety motivation(r=.13, p<.05). Predictive factors for patient safety competency were perception of the importance of patient safety management(β=.14, p<.001), less than 1year of career(β=-.22, p<.001), and 1 to 5 years. (β=-.31, p<.001), and the explanatory power was 22.6%(adj.=.226, p<.001). For improve the patient safety competency, to develop and apply patient safety competency education that perception of the importance of patient safety management and career.

본 연구는 노인 요양병원 간호사의 환자안전역량 예측요인을 파악하여 요양병원 간호사의 환자안전역량 증진을 위한 기초자료로 활용하기 위해 실시한 서술적 조사연구이다. 대상자는 노인 요양병원 간호사 234명으로 자 료수집은 2023년 7월 16일에서 8월 5일까지 실시하였으며, 수집된 자료는 SPSS 29.0을 이용하여 t-test, ANOVA, Scheffe’s test, Person’s correlation coefficients, Multiple linear regression으로 분석하였다. 환자안전역량은 환 자안전관리 중요성 인식(r=.19, p<.01), 환자안전역량 기술과 지식(r=.87, p<.001), 기술과 환자 안전동기(r=.13, p<.05) 간에 양의 상관관계를 보였다. 환자안전역량 예측요인으로 환자안전관리 중요성 인식(β=.14, p<.001), 요양 병원 근무경력 1년 미만(β=-.22, p<.001), 1년 이상～5년 미만(β=-.31, p<.001)으로 나타났고, 설명력은 22.6%였 다(adj.R2=.226, p<.001). 본 연구 결과를 근거로 요양병원 간호사의 환자안전역량을 증진시키기 위해서는 환자안 전관리 중요성 인식과 요양병원 경력을 고려한 환자안전역량 교육을 개발하여 적용할 필요가 있겠다.
