Gagok bogam(1928), published by Giseong gwonbeon in Pyeongyang, contains the lyrics of vocal music and the yanggeum melodies. This study attempts to examine the jul pungryu performed in the Seodo region by focusing on the instrumental music included in Gagok bogam. “Yanggeumjo” is same as the current “Yanggeum daseureum”, and the “Sangngyeongsan garak” is a variation on the current “Sangnyeongsan”. “Yeongsan hoesang jeon” is identical to those of the current “Gajeun hoesang” in the Seoul region, but it was confirmed that the metric structure shows the characteristics of vernacular jul pungryu traditions. Additionally, concerted notes appear in “Gunak”, which is also a feature found in vernacular traditions. Examples of the use of ‘ban-gak’ can be found in the current “Ujo garak dodeuri” and “Yangcheong dodeuri”, but it is difficult to find it in Gagok bogam, which is to be reconsidered. The significance in music history of the musical pieces from Gagok bogam is still to be revealed, under the possibility of the so-called “Seodo pungnyu”.

평양 기성권번에서 발행된 『가곡보감』(1928)은 당시 연행된 성악곡의 사설과 <양금조>ㆍ<상녕산가락> 및 <영산회상전>이라는 양금선율이 수록되어 있다. 본 연구에서는 『가곡보감』 수록 기 악곡에 주목하여 서도지역에서 연행되었던 <줄풍류>의 면모를 살펴보고자 하였다. <양금조>는 현행 양금 <다스름>과 동일한 악곡이며 <상녕산가락>은 <상령산> 선율을 변주한 현악 독주곡임 을 확인하였다. 열세 곡으로 구성된 <영산회상전>은 양금 악곡으로 현행 서울ㆍ경기지역 전승 <가즌회상>의 양금 선율과 동일하지만 장단 구조 및 분장법에서 타 지역 전승 <줄풍류>의 특징이 함께 나타나 주목된다. 또한 <군악>에서는 협종음이 등장하고 있는데 이 또한 서울 외 지역에서 나타나 는 음악적 특징이다. 현행 <우조가락도드리> 및 <양청도드리>에서 반각(半刻)의 용례를 찾아볼 수 있지만 『가곡보감』에서는 이를 찾아볼 수 없다. 이와 관련하여 재고의 여지가 있다. 현재는 단절 로 인하여 한정된 자료만으로 서도지역의 음악 문화를 짐작해 볼 수 밖에 없다. 이에 서도 풍류의 일면을 엿볼 수 있다는 점에서 이 악보의 음악사적 의의를 밝힐 수 있다.
