The Painting of ｢Joseon Envoys Departing China (送朝天客歸國詩章圖)｣, now in the Korean National Central Museum, depicts a group of officials on the banks of the Yangtse River outside the city of Nanjing in the Ming Dynasty, seeing off another official who is about to set sail for a long voyage. After the picture was disclosed, there were debates about the age of the painting. The author analyzes whether the basic information in the painting is consistent with the internal reality of the city of Nanjing in the mid-Ming period, and explores how richly the painting depicts information about the city of Nanjing in the mid-Ming period. From this, it can be concluded that this work depicts the whole city of Nanjing at that time in detail, and it can make up for the insufficiency of the literature on the study of the urban history of Nanjing in the middle of the Ming Dynasty as a city map of Nanjing in the Ming Dynasty.

본 연구는 『송조천객귀국시장도』를 통해 명대 남경의 도시 공간을 분석하였 다. 『송조천객귀국시장도』는 현재 한국국립중앙박물관에 소장되어 있으며 남경 성 외곽 강변에서 한 무리의 관리들이 긴 항해를 떠나는 다른 사람을 배웅하는 장면을 그린 그림이다. 이 그림이 공개된 후 그림의 제작연대에 대한 논쟁이 끊 이지 않았다. 본고는 그림에 묘사된 지리 정보가 명 중기 남경의 내부 풍경과 일치하는지 분석하였다. 이를 통해 이 그림이 명 중기 남경성의 모습과 일치하 며 또한 그것이 얼마나 풍부하게 묘사하고 있는지를 확인하였다. 또한 그림이 朝天客과 관련이 있다는 점을 고려하여 명의 수도가 남경에 있을 때 조선의 사 신의 남경사행이 어떠했는지에 대해서 살펴보았다.
