By elucidating on Karl Barth's new and living human from the perspective of agency theology, what becomes clearer is the fact that Barth attempted to explicate human beings not within confines of a fixed space but also within the mutual relationality or connection of the sovereign and the reciprocal. In his notable work "The Epistle to the Romans," Barth establishes his academic distinction by making the connection between humans and God the central focal point of interpretation and proceeds to unravel this issue. By the grace of God, the new man and the new world could emerge in the real world, demonstrating God himself through divine revelation. Through the new hman, individuals can obtain a pathway of understanding to God and the new world that God has prepared. Furthermore, in "19th Century Protestant Theology," Barth demonstrated how the intellectual heritage of the past can be academically linked to the present. In his seminal work "Church Dogmatics," he asserted that theology should be theology for the Church, placing emphasis on the connection between theology and the Church. Barth explored doctrinal subjects from the perspective of connection regarding the theological themes. In this essay, the author argues that from the perspective of agency theology, Barth is a theologian of connection. Focusing on his works "The Epistle to the Romans, Second Edition" and "19th Century Protestant Theology," the concepts of the new man (Der neue Mensch) and the living human (Der lebendige Mensch), which connect God and humanity, as well as the past and present humanity, will be examined through his theological methodology of dialectics and analogy. The perspective of agency theology will be used to investigate how Barth addressed the issue of understanding of the divine and the transcendent that is beyond human reason in the relationship between God and human.

칼 바르트(Karl Barth)의 새로운 인간과 살아있는 인간을 에이전시 신 학적 관점에서 조명해 봄으로써 더 분명해지는 것은 바르트가 인간을 정지 된 한 공간 안에서가 아니라 주객의 상호 관계성이나 주객의 상호 연결 안 에서 규명해 보려고 했다는 사실이다. 바르트는 그의 학문적 두각을 나타 내었던 『로마서 강해』에서 인간과 하나님 사이의 연결을 해석학적 중심 논 점으로 삼고 이 문제를 풀어나간다. 새로운 인간과 새로운 세계는 자기를 스스로 증명해 보여주시는 하나님의 은혜에 의해 현실 세계에 등장할 수 있었고 인간은 새로운 인간을 통해서 하나님과 하나님께서 예비하신 새로 운 세계로 나갈 수 있는 인식의 통로를 가질 수 있게 되었다. 더 나아가 바 르트는 『19세기 개신교 신학』에서 과거의 지적 유산과 현재가 어떻게 학문 적으로 연결될 수 있는지 보여주었다. 그의 대표적인 저작이라고 할 수 있 는 『교회 교의학』에서 그는 신학은 교회를 위한 신학이어야 한다고 보고 신 학과 교회의 연결에 주안점을 두고 교의학적 주제들을 연결의 관점에서 풀 어나간다. 이 소고에서 필자는 에이전시 신학적 관점에서 바르트는 연결 신학자 라고 주장한다. 특별히 그의 저작 『로마서 강해 2판』과 『19세기 개신교 신학』을 중심으로 하나님과 인간의 연결 문제와 과거의 인간과 현재의 인간 을 연결하는 개념인 새로운 인간(Der neue Mensch)1)과 살아있는 인간 (Der lebendige Mensch)2)이 그의 신학적 방법론인 변증법과 유비의 사용을 통해 고찰될 것이다. 인간 이성 너머에 있는 신과 초월적 세계에 대한 인식 차원에서 바르트가 인간과 하나님과의 관계의 문제를 어떻게 풀어갔 는지에 대해 에이전시 신학적 관점에서 조사하려고 한다
