Among the studies related to smartphone addiction and game addiction, there are not many prior studies confirming differences in gender compared to studies on social stigma and social bond theory factors. In addition, most of the proceeding studies have been conducted on adolescents enrolled in school, and studies on adolescents who have discontinued their studies are insufficient. This study is conducted to find out the difference in gender influence in the process of verifying the effect of attachment among social bond theory and social stigma, on smartphone addiction and game addiction. As a result of the study, smartphone addiction had a significant influence on parental attachment, peer attachment, and social stigma on male students, and social stigma had a significant effect on female students. In the case of game addiction, social stigma showed a significant effect on male students, but female students did not show any significant effect on independent variables. According to these results, it was confirmed that there are differences in the factors affecting smartphone addiction and game addiction between genders. This study empirically verified the social bonding factors and social stigma effects of school-dropout adolescents affecting smartphone addiction and game addiction. In addition, the importance of forming a stable and healthy attachment relationship for adolescents who discontinued school and the need for preventive education against smartphone addiction and game addiction were suggested in the policy implications.
