This study aims to help venture companies establish growth strategies by comparing the effects of venture entrepreneurs' characteristics, technological innovation capabilities, marketing capabilities, and external cooperation on financial performance and long-term growth prospects. This study used the characteristics of entrepreneurs, technological innovation capabilities, marketing capabilities, and external cooperation, which constitute the innovation capabilities of venture companies, as independent variables. And the dependent variables were set as sales, operating profit, and long-term growth prospects, and the hypothesis was tested through multiple regression analysis using data from 2,730 corporate companies from the ‘2022 Precise Survey on Venture Businesses’. While educational background and practical experience, which are characteristics of entrepreneurs, were found to have a negative or no effect on financial performance, they were found to have a positive (+) effect on long-term growth prospects. And the technology development research center and marketing competency level had a significant impact on both financial performance and long-term growth prospects. And while external cooperation experience and VC investment experience showed a negative (-) relationship with financial performance, they showed a positive (+) effect on long-term growth prospects. This study is different from existing studies in that it analyzes and compares the financial performance and long-term growth prospects of venture companies based on empirical data. In addition, it provides several implications to help venture companies establish short- and long-term growth strategies for survival. It also provides useful information for establishing government venture support policies.

본 연구는 벤처기업의 창업자특성, 기술혁신역량, 마케팅역량, 외부협력이 단기 재무성과와 장기 성장전망에 미치는 영향을 비교 분석하 여 벤처기업의 성장전략 수립에 도움을 주고자 한다. 본 연구는 벤처기업의 대표적 혁신역량인 창업자특성(최종학력, 산업실무경험, 과거창 업경험), 기술혁신역량(연구개발인력, 특허권 보유, 기술개발연구소 운영), 마케팅역량(자체브랜드 보유, 국내시장 점유율, 마케팅역량 수 준), 외부협력(정책자금지원경험, 협업활동경험, VC투자유치경험)을 각각 독립변수로 사용하였다. 종속변수로는 매출액과 영업이익, 장기 성장전망을 설정하였으며, 분석자료는 ‘2022년 벤처기업정밀실태조사’ 자료의 법인기업 2,730개의 데이터를 사용하여 다중회귀분석을 통해 가설을 검정하였다. 창업자의 최종학력과 산업실무경험은 재무성과에는 부(-)의 영향 또는 영향을 미치지 못하는 것으로 나타난 반면, 장기성장전망에는 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 기술개발연구소 운영 및 마케팅역량 수준은 재무성과와 장기성장전망 모두 유의한 영향을 미쳤다. 외부협업경험과 VC투자유치경험은 재무성과에는 부(-)의 관계를 나타낸 반면, 장기성장전망에는 정(+)의 관계를 나타냈다. 본 연구는 실증데이터를 기준으로 벤처기업의 재무성과와 장기성장전망을 비교 분석한 연구라는 점은 기존 연구와 차별성을 지니고 있다. 그리고, 벤처기업이 생존을 위해 취해야 하는 장 단기 성장전략 수립에 도움이 되는 몇 가지의 시사점을 제공한다. 또한 정부의 벤처기업 지원정책 수립에도 참고할만한 정보를 제공한다.
