This study aims to investigate the causes behind the imbalance of Taekwondo instructions. After selecting three Taekwondo instructors and two college students active as an incumbent Taekwondo player as research participants, the investigator conducted a 1:1 in-depth interview with them and reached the following conclusion: First, the expanding base of Taekwondo contests and the changing admission requirements of the Taekwondo department in college created opportunities to set up a specialized Taekwondo studio. The training programs of first-line Taekwondo studios focus on young children and adolescents. Their lessons are oriented to fun and interest rather than Taekwondo training. These have caused an imbalance in Taekwondo instructions among different studios. It is attributed to the faint importance of Poomsae and sparring training at Taekwondo studios due to token rank(Dan) evaluations. In an age when the perception of a Taekwondo studio without Taekwondo is prevalent, the creation of a specialized Taekwondo studio has been spurred by the thirst for Taekwondo instructions in the Taekwondo community to discard the old images of Taekwondo studios and emphasize the professionalism of Taekwondo instructions. Secondly, Taekwondo instructions based on the admission requirements of the Taekwondo department to bring up future players focus on Poomsae, demonstration(breaking), and college entrance examinations rather than balanced Taekwondo instructions, becoming another cause of imbalance in Taekwondo instructions.

본 연구는 태권도 지도의 불균형 원인에 관한 연구로 태권도 지도자 3명, 태권도 선수로 활동하고 있는 대학생 2명을 연구참여자로 선정하여 1대1 심층면담을 실시하였으며, 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 첫째, 태권도 대회의 저변확 대와 태권도학과 입시전형의 변화는 곧 전문도장이 발생하게되는 계기가 되었다. 일선 태권도장에서 이루어지는 수련 프로그램은 유아, 청소년에게 맞추어져 있어 태권도 수련보다 재미와 흥미 위주의 수업은 태권도장마다 지도의 불균형이 생기는 원인으로 볼 수 있다. 이는 형식적인 태권도 승품(단)심사로 인하여 도장에서의 품새, 겨루기 수련의 중요성이 미미해졌다는데서 기인한다고 보인다. 태권도가 없는 태권도장이라는 인식이 팽배한 시대에 전문도장의 발생은 기존의 태권도장 이미지를 탈피하고 태권도 지도의 전문성을 강조하고자 하는 태권도인들의 태권도 지도 갈증에서 기인하였다 고 사료된다. 둘째, 태권도학과 입시전형에 따른 선수육성을 기반으로한 태권도 지도의 경우 균형을 이룬 태권도 지도보 다는 품새, 시범(격파), 입시에 초점을 맞춘 지도로 인하여 태권도 지도의 불균형의 원인이 된다고 사료된다.
