The purpose of this study was to introduce cases of class improvement of new faculty members who participated in class consulting programs operated by universities. The subjects of the study were eight newly appointed teachers in 2021, 148 college students participating in class, and six external consultants at A University in Chungcheong-do. For data analysis, descriptive statistical analysis and independent sample t-verification were conducted using the SPSS 21.0 Program with survey data to quantitatively compare the class evaluation of teachers and students. In addition, to qualitatively analyze the characteristics, difficulties, and improvements of the new faculty member's class, a content analysis was conducted on the class consulting report of external consultants. The results of the study are as follows. First, as a result of comparing and analyzing the class evaluation of professors and students, it was found that students' class satisfaction was statistically significantly higher than that of professors in all areas (introduction, lecture composition and progress, interaction, voice, and organization). Second, as a result of analyzing the class consulting contents of new faculty members, topics such as "class structure and design," "verbal and non-verbal expression," "motivation," "interaction," and "example and data utilization" were derived as their class characteristics, difficulties, and improvements. This study is expected to be used as basic data when developing programs for new faculty members at universities in the future, and in particular, to help foster teaching capabilities of new faculty members.

본 연구의 목적은 충청권역 A대학에서 운영되는 수업 컨설팅 프로그램에 참여한 신임 교원들의 수업 개 선 방안을 탐색하기 위해 실시되었다. 연구 대상은 충청도 소재 A대학의 2021년 신규 임용된 교원 8명과 수업 참 여 대학생 148명, 외부 컨설턴트 6명이다. 자료 분석은 먼저 교원, 학생의 수업 평가를 양적으로 비교하기 위해 설문조사 자료를 가지고 SPSS 21.0 Program을 이용하여 기술통계분석, 독립표본 t검증을 실시하였다. 또한 신임 교원의 수업 특성과 어려움 및 개선 사항을 질적 분석하기 위해 외부 컨설턴트의 수업 컨설팅 보고서를 내용 분 석(Content Analysis)하였다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 교수, 학생의 수업 평가를 비교 분석한 결과 모든 영역(도입, 강의 구성 및 진행, 상호작용, 목소리, 정리)에서 교수보다 학생들의 수업 만족도가 통계적으로도 유의 미하게 높은 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 신임 교원의 수업 컨설팅 내용을 분석한 결과 이들의 수업 특성 및 어려움과 개선 사항으로 ‘수업 구조화 및 설계’, ‘언어적 및 비언어적 표현’, ‘동기부여’, ‘상호작용’, ‘예시 및 자료의 활용’이 라는 주제가 도출되었다. 이를 기반으로 신임 교원 수업에서의 개선 방안을 결론 및 제언에 기술하였다. 본 연구 는 추후 대학에서 신임 교원을 대상으로 하는 프로그램 개발 시 기초 자료로 활용되고, 특히 신임 교원의 교수 (teaching)역량을 함양할 수 있도록 지원하는 데 도움이 될 것으로 기대한다.
