The Ministry of Education announced the development of digital textbooks utilizing artificial intelligence in accordance with the revised 2022 curriculum, aiming to provide personalized education for each student. However, concerns have been raised by many experts due to the absence of a teaching and learning model related to classroom teaching using AI and insufficiently secured learning data from students. Therefore, this study defines the roles of generative AI as an learning guide, a rich data provider, a collaborative supporter, and a critical analyst to offer individualized adaptive learning through generative AI-based digital textbooks. To effectively reflect the role of generative AI, the PATROL model was developed based on the systematic instructional design proposed by Dick & Carey. The PATROL model can be broadly divided into three stages: planning, implementation, and improvement. In detail, it curriculum analysis, learner analysis, teaching materials and resources analysis, educational environment analysis, planning a goal, Assimilating AI, task exploring, researching the data, obtainning a solution, looking back, learning evaluation and analysis, class evaluation and analysis, and reflection and feedback.

교육부는 2022 개정 교육과정에 따라 인공지능을 활용한 디지털교과서를 개발하여 개인별 맞춤학습을 제공하겠 다고 발표하였다. 그러나 AI 디지털교과서를 활용한 교수학습 모형이 부재하고, 학생들의 학습 데이터도 충분하게 확보되지 않아 많은 전문가들이 우려를 나타내고 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 생성형 AI 기반의 디지털교과서를 활용한 개별화된 맞춤 학습을 제공하기 위해 생성형 AI의 역할을 학습 안내자, 풍부한 자료 제공자, 협력적 지원 자, 비판적 분석자 등으로 설정하고, 이러한 생성형 AI의 역할이 잘 반영될 수 있도록 Dick & Carey가 제시한 체 제적 교수설계에 따라 PATROL 모형을 개발하였다. PATROL 모형은 크게 기획 단계, 구현 단계, 개선 단계 등 3 단계로 구분할 수 있고, 세부적으로는 교육과정 분석하기, 학습자 분석하기, 교수 자료 및 자원 분석하기, 교육 환 경 분석하기, 목표 계획하기, 생성형 AI 이해하기, 과제 탐색하기, 자료 탐색하기, 결과 도출하기, 공유하기, 학습 분석 및 평가하기, 수업 분석 및 평가하기, 성찰 및 피드백하기 등으로 구분하였다.
