The purpose of this study is to develop the technology-based active learning(TBAL) classrooms, which have proved to be effective in school learning in advanced countries, into a class operation system suitable for the local environment in order to innovate classroom teaching in domestic K12 schools. To this end, four design directions were set: introduce a teaching method that is extensively student-led, develop methods to improve the performance of school classes, incorporate technologies to reduce the teacher’s preparation burden, satisfy the need for fairness through diversification and transparency of test processes. This system, purported to cultivate metacognitive learning skill has the following characteristics: organizes all class activities into learning activity games, supports various study organizational activities, measures the performance of all activities by a consistent learning point scale, and provides a step-by-step learning and open links with other systems. Applying the system developed in this study to school classrooms, we expect to motivate students to more actively engage in the classroom learning and help schools attain their mission as well as complement the shortcomings of the ‘digital education innovation,’ pursued by the education authorities.

본 연구의 목적은 초·중·고 학교 수업의 혁신을 위해 외국에서 성과가 입증된 기술기반 액티브 러닝 (Technology-based Active Learning: TBAL) 교실을 국내 현실에 맞는 수업운영시스템으로 발전·개발하는 데 있 다. 이를 위하여 학생주도를 전면적으로 확대한 수업방식 도입, 학교수업의 성과증대 방법개발, 교사들의 수업준비 부담 경감, 평가방식 다변화 및 투명화를 통한 공정성 욕구 충족 등 네 가지 설계방향을 설정하였다. 본 수업운영 시스템은 메타인지 학습기술 배양을 주목적으로 모든 수업활동을 학습게임으로 편성, 다양한 학습조직 구성, 학습 과정을 일관된 학습포인트로 측정, 단계적 학습과 개방형 운영체제라는 특징이 있다. 본 연구에서 개발한 TBAL교 실 수업운영시스템을 학교 교실수업에 적용시킴으로써 학생들의 적극적인 학습활동 참여 동기를 유발하여 학습성 과를 높이고 나아가 교육당국에서 추진 중인 디지털 교육혁신 정책의 미비점을 보완할 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.
