This study discusses that the grammar of prayer healing in the Epistle of James has stronger characteristics of the middle voice than the passive voice. It reveals that prayer is related to inherent grace, that is, the cultivation of body, mind, and spirit, rather than the supernatural work of God. Therefore, it is emphasized that the church community must form a culture of prayer while complying with inherent grace or natural laws. Furthermore, this paper also suggests ways to practice God's healing depending on the type of disease. In particular, it emphasizes the holistic nature of healing where both prayer and medical treatment are playing their roles in the process of God’s healing practice. It appeals that prayer can play a role in the process of healing and make the people’s life healthier when the church community secures the holistic nature of God’s healing, but it can be served as a temptation to restrict people or replace their natural life when the holistic nature of healing is lost.

본 연구는 야고보서의 기도 치유의 문법은 수동태보다 중간태의 특 성이 강하다는 것을 논한다. 기도는 하나님의 초자연적 역사보다는 내 재된 은총, 즉 몸, 마음, 영의 함양과도 관계된다는 것을 밝힌다. 따라 서 교회 공동체는 내재된 은총 또는 자연 법칙에 순응하며 기도하는 문 화를 형성해야 한다는 것을 강조한다. 나아가 질병의 유형에 따라 하나님의 치유를 실천 방안도 제시한다. 특히 치유의 통전성, 즉 기도와 의료적 치료는 모두 하나님의 치유의 실천이라는 것을 강조한다. 교회 공동체가 하나님의 치유의 통전성을 확보할 때, 기도가 삶을 더 건강하게 하고 치유할 수 있지만, 치유의 통 전성을 상실 할 때 사람을 구속하거나 본성적 삶을 대체하는 유혹으로 작용할 수도 있다는 것도 피력한다.
