This study aims to examine whether the conscientization of unconsciousness in the individuation process has the potential to assist the spiritual growth of Christians by reviewing the individuation process of Carl G. Jung. Today’s modern Christian society emphasizes the importance of spiritual growth to help Christian’s holistic health and life. The reason for the emphasis on spiritual growth is that it contains the meaning of holistic growth and well-being. In other words, through spiritual growth, Christians can move toward a state of holistic well-being. Spiritual growth can be accomplished through the integration of insight about psychological elements and transcendent beings through the death of egocentric attitudes and perspectives. However, spiritual growth is affecting Christians as a limiting factor in aspects of understanding and growth. In other words, the necessity of research on spiritual growth through death from an ego-centered perspective is suggested. In this respect, reviewing the Individuation Process of Jung can be helpful as it connects meaningfully to the above needs. First, the expansion of the meaning of egocentric perspective’s death and the growth of the inner world through death from an egocentric perspective could be examined in depth. Second, it can further support the development of spirituality, in that it promotes the conscientization of God's image and the development of sacred characteristics. Therefore, this study reflected on the meaning of death from an ego-centered perspective and the individuation process that refers to inner growth through death based on these. Then, after the reflection as seen in Christianity, it is examined on how conscientization of unconsciousness through death from an ego-centered perspective may help in spiritual growth. Lastly, three methods for spiritual growth using analytical psychology were suggested.

이 논문은 칼 융(Carl G. Jung)의 개성화 과정에 관한 성찰을 통해 개성화 과정에 서의 무의식의 의식화가 가능성으로서 기독교인의 영적 성장에 도움을 줄 수 있는지 를 살펴보는 연구이다. 오늘날 현대의 기독교 사회는 성도들의 전인적인 건강한 삶을 돕기 위해 영적인 성장의 중요성에 대하여 강조를 하고 있다. 영적인 성장을 강조하 는 이유는 영적 성장에는 총체적이고도 전인적인 성장과 안녕의 의미가 내포되어 있 기 때문이다. 다시 말해 성도들은 영적 성장을 통해 전인적인 안녕의 상태로 나아갈 수 있다. 영적 성장은 자기 부정을 의미하는 자아 중심적 관점, 태도의 죽음을 통한 심리 요소의 통찰과 초월적 존재와의 합일을 통해 이뤄질 수 있다. 그러나 이러한 영 적 성장은 이해와 성장이라는 측면에 있어 한계적 요소로서 기독교인들에게 영향을 미치고 있다. 이것은 곧 자아 중심적 관점, 태도의 죽음을 통한 영적 성장 연구가 필 요함을 의미한다고 볼 수 있다. 이런 측면에서 볼 때 융의 개성화 과정에 관한 성찰 은 위의 요청 사항들에 유의미하게 연결되어 도움을 줄 수 있다. 첫째, 자아 중심적관점, 태도의 죽음 의미 확장과 이것의 죽음을 통한 내면세계의 성장을 심층적으로 살펴볼 수 있다. 둘째, 하나님 이미지 의식화와 신성력 개발을 촉진할 수 있기에 영성 의 발달을 도울 수 있다. 따라서 연구자는 이를 근간으로 자아 중심적 관점, 태도 죽 음 의미와 이것의 죽음을 통한 내면의 성장을 언급하는 개성화 과정에 대해서 성찰할 것이다. 다음으로 기독교에서 본 영적 성장의 의미 성찰 후 자아 중심적 관점, 태도의 죽음을 통한 무의식의 의식화가 영적 성장에 어떻게 도움을 줄 수 있는지를 살펴볼 것이다. 마지막으로 분석심리학적인 방식으로서의 영적 성장을 이루기 위한 세 가지 의 방법을 제언하며 이 논문을 마칠 것이다.
