The purpose of this paper is to explore bio-medical ethics from an engineering perspective. The advancement of engineering technology has made it possible to insert artificial elements into biological bodies for therapeutic purposes and beyond, contributing to the use of various medical devices for diagnosis and treatment by physicians. Biomedical engineers, who have a direct or indirect impact on the medical field, argue the need to explore ethical principles that can cultivate the medical ethical awareness of biomedical engineers. This paper serves as a preliminary study to propose 'Engineering Medical Ethics Principles', examining existing ethical codes in the biomedical engineering field.

본 논문의 목적은 ‘생명의료윤리’를 ‘의공학적 시선’에서 살펴보고자 함이다. 의공학 기술은 환자가 의사를 진단하고 치료하는 과정에 필수 적인 요소이며 의사와 환자 사이에는 보이지 않는 의공학자들의 역할 과 의미가 더욱 중요시되고 있다. 이에 본 논문은 첫째, 의공학자들이 의료현장에 직간접적으로 영향을 미치고 있으므로 의공학인의 생명의 료 윤리적 인식을 함양할 수 있는 윤리원칙을 모색할 필요성이 대두되 었음을 주장한다. 둘째, ‘의공학적 생명의료윤리원칙’을 제언하기 위한 선행 연구로 기존의 의공학계 윤리강령을 분석한다. 셋째, 일반적인 윤 리원칙의 한계와 의미를 논한다.
