Curiosity is the driving force that allows us to discover new information in various academic fields and even in everyday life. Recently, as various generative AIs have shown that they are capable of creative tasks that were previously believed to be exclusive to humans, the idea that we should focus on the ability to find problems rather than the ability to find answers has emerged, and curiosity is emerging as an important characteristic. However, curiosity has ambivalent characteristics. If curiosity has good and bad sides, we need to explore what curiosity is as a necessary trait. In this study, the meaning and elements of curiosity were derived and analyzed from a virtue epistemological perspective. In addition, we analyzed how curiosity can be related to current moral education.

호기심은 다양한 학문 영역들, 일상 생활 속에서도 새로운 정보들을 발견할 수 있도록 하는 동력이다. 최근 여러 생성형 AI가 인간의 전유 물이라고 믿었던 창의적인 작업까지 가능함을 보여주면서 답을 찾는 능력보다 문제를 찾는 능력에 초점을 맞춰야 한다는 생각이 대두되며, 호기심이 하나의 중요한 특성으로 부각되고 있다. 그러나 호기심은 양 가적 특성을 가지고 있다. 호기심이 좋은 측면과 나쁜 측면을 가지고 있다면 우리에게 필요한 자질로서 호기심은 어떠한 것인지에 대해 탐 색해 볼 필요가 있다. 본 연구에서는 호기심의 의미와 요소를 도출하 고, 덕 인식론적 관점에서 이를 분석하였다. 또한 호기심이 현재 도덕 교육과 어떠한 연관성을 가질 수 있는지를 분석하였다.
