This research undertakes an examination of the K-drama through the application of Jungian psychologist Maureen Murdock's ‘Heroine's Journey,’ with the intent of offering a novel perspective on the discourse surrounding female protagonists in the realm of Korean content. First, the reason for selecting was described, and then ‘Heroine's Journey’ was examined by linking Joseph Campbell's ‘Hero's Journey’ with gender-related criticism. Afterwards, the drama was analyzed while considering the limitations of Campbell's theory and the strengths of Murdock's theory. As a result of the analysis, it corresponded to the 10 stages of Heroine's Journey, and each stage showed distinctive challenges, conflicts, and changes related to femininity. In other words, rather than a narrative in which only the gender of the existing Hero's Journey was changed to female, the significance was discovered as a Korean content containing a Heroine's Journey narrative that delicately depicts the ordeals, conflicts, and growth. In addition, the applicability of Murdock's theory was confirmed as a discursive tool that can consistently examine the growth and changes of heroines with a focus on femininity in Korean contents. The paper concludes by suggesting future research directions for further refining the concept of the Heroine's Journey, adapted to specific eras, societies, cultures, and gender contexts.

본 연구는 융 심리학자 모린 머독(Maureen Murdock)의 ‘여성 영웅의 여정(Heroine’s Journey)'을 활용하여 한국 드라마 <닥터 차정숙>을 분석함으로써 한국 콘텐츠에서 여성 주인공 담론에 대한 새로운 시각을 제시하고자 하였다. 분석 작품으로 드라마 <닥터 차정숙>을 선정한 이유를 밝히고, 이론적 배경으로는 조지프 캠벨(Joseph Campbell)의 ‘영웅의 여정(Hero’s Journey)’과 젠더 관련 비판을 연계하여 여성 영웅의 여정을 살펴보았다. 이후 캠벨 이론의 한계점과 머독 이론의 장점을 고찰하면서 작품을 분석하였다. 특히, 여성성과 관련하여 나타나는 여성 영웅의 고유한 시련, 갈등, 성장에 집중하여 단계별로 분석하였으며, 맹목적 적용 보다는 작금의 맥락에 맞게 비판적으로 진행하였다. 분석 결과, 드라마 <닥터 차정숙>은 여성 영웅의 여정 10단계와 맞물리며, 각 단계에서 여성성과 관련한 독특 한 시련, 갈등, 성장이 나타났다. 즉, 기존 영웅의 여정에서 성별만 여성으로 바꾼 서사가 아니라, 여성이기에 겪는 시련과 갈등, 성장을 섬세하게 그려낸 여성 영웅 의 여정 서사를 담고 있는 한국 콘텐츠로서의 드라마 <닥터 차정숙> 의의를 발견하였다. 또한 한국 콘텐츠에서 여성 영웅의 성장과 변화를 여성성 중심으로 일관성 있게 고찰할 수 있는 담론 도구로써 머독 이론의 적용 가능성도 확인하였다. 후속 연구로는 특정 시대와 사회 및 문화적 배경에 더욱 적합하게 보완된 여성 영웅의 여정 탐색에 대한 제언을 제시하였다.
