This study aimed to find an effective direction of teaching elementary dance appreciation by applying visual thinking with “visualization of thoughts” as the core. To this end, first, the concept of the dance appreciation class of expression activities was established and the creative conceptualization of dance appreciation was attempted. Second, by analyzing the cases and status of elementary dance appreciation education, the necessity of teaching elementary dance appreciation was derived based on this. Third, the usefulness and meaning of applying visual thinking to dance appreciation classes were discovered by proving the definition and effectiveness of visual thinking and investigating and analyzing cases of using visual thinking in other subjects in school education. Finally, an elementary dance appreciation instruction plan applied with visual thinking was designed to provide a basic foundation for use in the actual educational field. Through this, we presented the positive effect of visual thinking and examined the applicability of visual thinking in elementary dance appreciation classes. It is hoped that various elementary dance appreciation education programs and textbooks using visual thinking can be developed in a creative direction so that they can be applied in the actual school field in the future.

본 연구는 “생각의 시각화”를 핵심으로 하는 비주얼 씽킹을 적용한 효과적인 방향의 초등무용감상 지도방안 모색을 목표로 하였다. 이를 위하여 첫째, 표현활동의 무용감상 수업에 대한 개념을 정립하여 무용감상의 창의적 개념화를 시도하였다. 둘째, 초등무용감상교육의 사례와 현황을 분석하여 이 를 바탕으로 초등무용감상 지도방안의 필요성을 도출하였다. 셋째, 비주얼 씽킹의 정 의 및 효용성을 증명하고 학교 교육에서 타 과목 비주얼 씽킹 활용 사례 조사 및 분석 을 통해 무용감상수업에 비주얼 씽킹을 적용할 수 있는 유용성과 의미를 발견하였다. 마지막으로 비주얼 씽킹을 적용한 초등무용감상 지도방안을 설계하여 실제 교육현장 에서 활용할 수 있는 기초적인 토대를 제공하였다. 이를 통해 비주얼 씽킹의 긍정적 효과를 제시하며 초등무용감상 수업에서 비주얼 씽킹의 적용 가능성을 살펴보았다. 추후 실제 학교 현장에서 적용할 수 있도록 비주얼 씽킹을 활용한 다각적인 초등무용감상 교육프로그램 및 활용교재 등이 창의적인 방향 으로 개발될 수 있기를 기대해 본다.
